Presuming the Cowboys are parting ways with Romo? I'm not convinced that's happening, just yet. Get that done and then we can discuss a FA QB coming aboard.

It's happening. Unless Jerry pulls a power play and inserts Romo as the starter again, if the team is truly Prescott's, Jerry will do Romo a favor and allow him to finish out his career as a starter somewhere else.

Surprisingly, yes, I would.

yep, rather have moore than mcnown.
if dak gets hurt and romo is gone, we are done anyway.

would not mind drafting a QB every year - preferably in the 4th round in the supplemental picks if possible

I wouldn't be totally against it. I'd probably still have him compete with Moore and someone else for the backup spot, though.

And pray you get lucky and hit on another Dak? Good luck. Especially when you are using all the resources you have on defense.

Luck has nothing to do with it. QBs can be found in any round, not just in the first one or two. Moore is a possibility but why should the Cowboys count on him, or any other vet, exclusively? Why?

Just sign Luke Papilion of Sioux Falls as an UDFA.

Papilion is 6'5 220. He lit up the box score as a dual threat QB. I feel his skills would be complementary to Dak's, and we could still run the same offense. Now, he would need a lot more reps, since he was a lower level QB, but he is used to playing in high profile playoff games.

The Front office sure does love this bum McCown

Would rather have him at backup than Sanchez would you not agree? Can you name a great backup QB? They all have problems which is why they're backups but McCown has had some pretty good games. He torched us a few years ago with 4 TD passes when he played for Chicago. Last season in limited action with Cleveland he had 341 yards and a couple of TD's against the Jets and he put up 321 yards and a TD against a solid Giants defense that gave Dak a lot of problems. The pickins aren't going to be great a backup and I wouldn't have an issue taking a look at McCown, he could be very good with the talent we have on offense.
