Cowboys interested in Warrick Dunn?...Dunn officially released

I would pass. He brings absolutely nothing to special teams. So that means he's taking up a game day activation for what? 5-7 carries a game at 3.2 per clip?

Sounds like another Eddie George thing.

I agree we don't need a guy that has little mileage on the treads and not backing up any other positions or playing any special teams at all. Tyson Thompson is the position Dunn would actually be filling and we need at least his former level of play when he was producing, to be replaced with this # 3 RB position.

We have a significant re-build needing to be done on ST and we will need every rookie we draft to be on them and contributing..especially if they play offense.

I think one of the things that kept us from being a championship team last year was our very poor punt and KO units. In big games, they didn't produce any big plays for us. Against the Pats, they had the ball consistently around the 50 and the same against the Jints in the playoffs. Continually putting the defense with it's back to the wall with short drives for the other team to score.

This has to swing 180 degrees if we are going to win consistently next year.

I'd like our rookie draftee RB to be a punt returner and if we end up drafting a rookie WR in the 1st round, have him do kickoffs, too. These are ways they can have an impact immediately on the team and also contribute wherever offensively at their positions. This is essential with any #1 pick we take this year.

They must contribute immediately plus be looked at as future starter for us.

We need some speed and explosion from both the PR and KR units handling the ball.

Dunn would not be the one to me.

I'd rather draft Rice in the 2nd round & another CB in the 3rd round. Like Dunn also but does he really have enough left to help us?

If we're going to bring in a 3rd down role vet, I'd much rather bring in Mewelde Moore. He has a 4.9 career yards per carry, a 9.4 career yards per catch, and he's a punt returner... which Dallas desperately needs to upgrade.

I think that is an excellent point.

Let Crayton spend 100% of his time working on his WR skills.

on one condition

no "Cat Fancy Magazine" in the lockerroom

I've always liked that little dude.

Keep his workload down so he can stay healthy, and I think he can still be an asset.

I take it we're going to get linked to every 30+ year old player that gets released.

Count me in. High character, good production, missed 10 games in 11 years. Only thing I'm wondering is, do we want a backup that plays STs?

Also, if Dunn does sign with Dallas.............he will be able to spread his Humanitarian seed throughout the lockerroom. This can only be good for the Dallas area, as giving is contagious. Jerry loves to give back to the community, and I am sure he and Dunn could make some good things happen in the Metroplex.....

Doesn't look like thats gonna happen.

The Steelers hosted free agent RB Mewelde Moore on Sunday, and "his signing appears imminent," according to ESPN's Michael Smith.
He'd be an upgrade over 2007 third-down option Verron Haynes and supply added punt and kick return value. The deal may be announced this afternoon.

That's too bad, I would have like him here.

He might be better then JJ but it's not really a big deal..He's ok in open space but not so much between the tackles.
