I'd rather draft someone.

No offense to Warrick, since he's actually one of the real good guys in the NFL, but it's one thing to bring a vet in at a position like QB or O-line and quite another to bring an old guy in at RB.

We tried that already, it did not work out well.

so we still draft someone. that would give us

barber
dunn
draft pick

bye bye tyson thompson.

I take it we're going to get linked to every 30+ year old player that gets released.

well, it's not like if they have some form of a name (or *had* in many instances) there won't be some posters who just want to bring him in and kick the tires. it's just that time of the year i suppose.

Don't forget, Dunn has the experience to be able to pick up the blitz as a third down back, and can peel off when he is not needed as an outlet. That is one are where experience is priceless. That gets lost so often when thinking about RB's.

The Lions are expected to take a look at Warrick Dunn after he's released by the Falcons.
Dunn will probably be released later Monday. The Texans are also highly likely to show strong interest in him. Dunn starred behind current Houston line coach Alex Gibbs when the two were together in Atlanta from 2004-2005.

Dunn averaged 3.2 ypc.

He sucked.

and when you have no qb, coupled with the other team knowing you're going to run because of said qb problem, who could do more?

i just get amazed at what one little tidbit can do to facinate someone so much.

If we're going to bring in a 3rd down role vet, I'd much rather bring in Mewelde Moore. He has a 4.9 career yards per carry, a 9.4 career yards per catch, and he's a punt returner... which Dallas desperately needs to upgrade.

On the nose as usual. Although I can't help think he adds a great deal in intangibles. But you're right. He would take a roster spot away from a young player who could become a long term starter.

Ronnie Brown averaged 5.1 per carry on a 1 - 15 team before he got hurt.

Which is why we are very fortunate to be getting Hudson Houck who did an exceptional job with that line.
(hijack:))

well If I remember correctly Skip peete was his rb coach in tampa once upon a time.

not sure if that is correct of the top of my head or it that matters.

Norwood had success running behind the same OL with the same QB problems.

I Would not mind seeing him in Dallas at all.

I agree. He still has some juice left in the tank, and is a GREAT team guy.

if he's willing to be our 3rd RB then i say bring him in on a 1 year deal...

Are some of you for real? Dunn is a good man from all i hear. but he's a 33 year old washed up RB. so we dont need to do anything in free-ageny but add a 35 year old LB,and a 33 year old RB. some of you people are unreal. NO TO Warrick Dunn!

If you can get Dunn "on the cheap", why not? He's faster than JJ and would be a great change of pace back for Barber. You can still draft a back in the draft, but why not go for Dunn?

Are the Lions going to look at every free agent running back ?
