Here we go again. Every time a player is rumored to be on the trading block, the Cowboys are rumored to be interested in a deal. This time it is Tee Higgins, of the Bengals - because Cooks has been put on IR. None of these rumors ever come true but the media continues the same game.

The Cowboys should take their medicine this year. Save their CAP space and draft picks and do something big next year. Of course I am dreaming.

For what it's worth, Higgins would cost the Cowboys about $15 million against the CAP in 2024 if the trade was made today.

But he is a free agent next year and I don't think he would be worth re-signing. This is why I would not make the deal. He is a one year rental and the Cowboys have bigger problems than WR.

Not gonna happen l, but he'd be a nice pick up for sure.

"Some Guys Says Dallas Needs a Receiver"

Higgins is basically untradeable because no team is going to give up premium picks as a rental and if they do then they have 0 contract leverage. Cinci has no incentive to trade him for less than a 2nd because he's going to fetch 3rd round comp value anyway.

The only big thing we will do next year is wait until the last minute to overpay our own players.

And when we watch starters leave we will draft their replacements late in the draft...lol..

Its almost funny if it weren't so sad.

One of the more intelligent posts you will find. Well said. The only other factor to consider is that he burns over 1 million in cap space every game he plays and his contract is fully guaranteed. The Chiefs may believe the remaining 13 or so million in cap space is worth the difference between the comp pick and the trade offer. You can get a solid player on a 1 year deal for that much money.

Now THIS I would love, but I've crunched the numbers and it equals-zero % chance of happening.

My thinking is, we all cry that its hard to build a perfect roster with a highly paid QB, but IMO they should at least try to be great at something, the run game, the pass game or the pass rush. Right now they are not great or very good at anything.
