Player agents of other teams love to mention the Dallas Cowboys as potential suitors as trading partners. It always seems to serve as bait and switch for agents to get their player contracts to be accepted. This really seems to be yet another example of this popular option to be exploited by Higgins' agent to offer Higgins as bait to get him signed by Cincy. This routinely occurs to involve the Cowboys in such ways. It's very predictable.

"Some Guys Says Dallas Needs a Receiver"

Higgins is basically untradeable because no team is going to give up premium picks as a rental and if they do then they have 0 contract leverage. Cinci has no incentive to trade him for less than a 2nd because he's going to fetch 3rd round comp value anyway.
He will likely play out his contract and walk

I think any reasonable trade scenario would have a team negotiating with the Bengals and Higgins at the same time. Leading to a trade and new contract after completion.

I think Higgins is the caliber of player that a team would gamble on as a #1 as a FA. I don't think he is the caliber of player a team would give up a premium pick to gamble on him as a #1 WR

In fairness WR is a critical position. The Cooper trade worked out well considering what we gave up.

We just dont have that need to give up a top 60 pick for a vet right now

Here we go again. Every time a player is rumored to be on the trading block, the Cowboys are rumored to be interested in a deal. This time it is Tee Higgins, of the Bengals - because Cooks has been put on IR. None of these rumors ever come true but the media continues the same game.

The Cowboys should take their medicine this year. Save their CAP space and draft picks and do something big next year. Of course I am dreaming.
we are always listed as a trade partner because there are more of us than any other team so the writer/site gets a ton of clicks from us

Thats because of how they played it. They made it pretty well known they were moving him and depressed his market. Given that he was still fairly young, and had no guaranteed money on his deal, they could have gotten a 3rd if they didnt go about it the way they did

Read this .........from an SI article by Andrew Brandt, former Cap guy for the Packers ( I think he and MM worked together ). Can't always believe what you read about trades.
BTW......the whole article is an excellent read

Thus, the acquiring team has to figure out if it wants to negotiate a realistic contract extension or otherwise will be acquiring Adams for barely half a season. It is also in Adams’s best interest to secure some guarantees for next year.

As to the teams interested, never believe what you read. I remember, when I worked for the Packers, agents always asking me if they could “use” us and tell the media we were interested in a player (even though we weren’t). My thought was that if it could help drive the price up for another team, whether trade compensation or financial compensation, have at it.

Rule #1: Always mention that the Dallas Cowboys are interested when shopping your client around the league.
Rule #2: Never forget Rule #1.

There is no chance this is happening. They’ve made it very clear about the cap situation and Parsons
