BTW, if you go back and watch the press conference the night they drafted Micah, they tell you he was their #1 pressure player. Rated higher than any pass rusher that year.

Now it's being re-written that they accidentally discovered it out of necessity after drafting him.

Nonsense.
Sure.

Quinn admitted it the week going into the Chargers game. Tank broke his foot and Gregory had COVID. Parsons played every snap at Linebacker in 2 years at Penn State.

The Cowboys were stranded at pick 10 and even stepped away from the draft room cameras so no one could see them "debating" what to do. Your Eagles bailed them out because they (smartly) wanted to jump the GIants and draft DeVonta Smith. Jerry spun it as Parasons being the BPA even though they already had LVE and Jaylon Smith. If they felt he was an elite pressure player, why not draft him at 10? Why not say he will be an Edge/pressure player? Why did he only play LB snaps in the preseason and in Week One?

But sure, it was the plan.

Even a press conference the day after the draft talking about his pass rush ability and being their #1 rated pass rusher in that draft isn't enough to convince the Pac 10 scout. He knows better.

Yes. They were completely unaware and lucked out later. Go and tell the others.

No one had Parsons as an Edge pre draft…no one.

A LBr that was an elite blitzed? Sure…but ZERO analysts had him as a DE.

He was the best defender in the draft so if we were smart we would’ve just took him immediately but we got super lucky he was still there in a trade down.

Lucky for us he’s turned into a generational pass rusher. The Jones’ clown show kicked out again.

No, no. According to @Risen Star it was all part of Jerry's plan.

Don't get me wrong. Sometimes teams get crazy lucky in talent acquisition. The Cowboys getting Parsons at 12 and Lamb at 17 falls into that category.

Also, in both cases, the Jones tried to talk themselves out of the gift they received. Lamb was there and they still considered going with K'Lavon Chaisson and even Trevon Diggs instead. With Parsons, they were so devastated about losing out on the two Corners, they bickered amongst themselves, traded down at the last second, and ended up taking him at 12.

Weird how just taking the best player available works out huh?

Broadus has said that scouts told him they didn’t have a clue he could rush like he could off the edge.

He was drafted as a MLB and they stumbled upon this edge thing.

His instincts at MLB had him headed to bustville.

5 for 5.

Not really cherry picking here. These are all the players drafted in the 11-17 range in the Jerry era with the exception of CB Kevin Smith a Pro Bowler who was looking like another great one until blowing out his achilles.

6 for 6. Just some bad luck.

The year prior to Jerry buying the team the Cowboys made another 11-17 draft pick. You might have heard of him. Michael Irvin.

This is like our cheat sheet to a great player.
What's funny is that Jerry and Stephen would absolutely believe this as justification for this season and their personnel decisions.

Who needs a top 10 pick when we can get one between 11 and 17?!

I provided the evidence. You provided nothing but opinion.

They stumbled upon nothing with Micah as a pass rusher.
Which is why he played zero snaps as an Edge in preseason and week one. Or his entire career at Penn State.

Jerry spinning why they drafted a guy is not evidence. His press conferences after the draft are all about him justifying the move. Jaylon Smith being coveted by Bill Belichick, the Ravens or Chiefs "wanting their guy", adjusted draft boards written on a napkin, etc.

Hardly evidence Sir.

Go Cowboys, I know today is a conflict for you.

He's still trying.

Joe Fan says they stumbled upon him being a pass rusher.

Joe is shown the press conference when he was drafted where they emphasize his pass rush ability to the tune of being their #1 ranked pressure player.

Joe still thinks he's right.

Flush this guy. This is proof of what a waste of a read he is.

He seems pissed.

Tell me again how after drafting him then stating in the press conference that his pass rush ability is the best in class they completely lucked out and accidentally found out he was a pass rusher once he was on the field.

I need another laugh. Say it again.

Or just admit I embarrassed you here and we can move on to the next thing.

Your take is that Jerry spinning in the press conference is proof. He spews nonsense every draft press conference. Kansas City wanted Mazi. New England wanted Jaylon. The Ravens texted them telling them how great their pick was. If that's your proof and you truly believe that, you are not dealing in reality. I can't argue with your fantasy.

No one is embarrassed except maybe your family who had hoped you moved out of the basement well before your 50s.

My take is when a joe fan tells you the team accidentally found out a player could rush the passer after that same team told you he was their #1 rated pass rusher when they drafted him, that fan is a melvin of epic proportions.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. You should be laughed out of this place. You don't have even the slightest clue of what you're talking about.

Sure. They knew he was an elite pass rusher and traded away from 10.

They knew he was an elite pass rusher and waited until Week 2 when the starting Edges were hurt to start having him practice at the position.

Laughed out of this place? As if this message board was not a place for fans to share their takes, opinions, or overall experiences of being a Cowboys fan?

You were kicked out of this message board and others for your tantrums, changed your name, and have the nerve to judge anyone?

Sure sbk. Keep pretending your something other than the troll you are.

Moving around the draft board is irrelevant. They would just get more credit for gaining a pick before getting the player. You're just desperate to sound less idiotic.

You made a statement that was just blatantly untrue. I provided the evidence. It doesn't matter if you admit it. I prefer that you don't. It's funnier that way.

This message board is a place for fans to share their takes and opinions but this isn't a take or an opinion. It's not an opinion that the Cowboys drafted Micah as their top rated pass rusher. They told you they did. No matter how much you don't like it. No matter how much you want to pretend they were unaware of it.

They are on record proving you wrong.

And you seem really angry about it.
