This is my biggest concern. I know many of us give Anthony Brown a hard time but the defense has not been the same without him. As bad as many think he has been, Nashon Wright and Kelvin Joseph have been outright atrocious. We need to be searching every practice squad and looking at anybody currently unsigned. There has to be a better option out there than those 2 guys.
Don't know what you got till it's gone...AB was grossly underappreciated, imo

Kind of telling that they are still looking for another corner to step up. Obviously this is going to be a problem in the playoffs unless they catch lightning in a bottle. D-line better be getting pressure.

Major vote of confidence for Wright. Week 18 and they are looking for an upgrade on the street

When Dobbs completes 70% of his passes on Wright for over 100 yards— what level of confidence would you expect the coaches to have in him?

The kid is smart and can make some plays— but he is raw and stiff. Playoff caliber QBs will abuse him, hence MM working everybody out to try and find a solution

AB was playing really bad this season. He was veteran though so at least he knew his assignments.
I'd still take him over anyone else we have or bring in,other than diggs, who has been better than brown on this team? The only one remotely close has been bland, but bland is more a slot corner at this point, imo

Not really sure who is out there who has more experience than Alexander (80+ games) and Mullen (45 games). Maybe Janoris Jenkins who is on the SF practice squad or Xavier Rhodes. Rhodes has only played in 2 games all season so I don’t see him being much help.

The quantity is good. The quality not so much.

Diggs, Wright, Bland, Joseph, Alexander, Mullen, Goodwin

Diggs and Bland are the only two that should be playing. The rest are all expendable.

I wouldn’t panic but it’s not great

Alexander has 80+ games under his belt and Mullen has around 45.

I would go with Diggs, Bland, Alexander, Mullen and Wright.

I think Mullen can be a legit starter for us.

That's why I wanted Stephen Gilmore or Patrick Peterson

Cornerback will be a lesser issue if our DL can start playing like the games 2-6. There is hardly any pressure getting home from the edges and Interior DL is washed out completely, not having quality DTs and hurt Micah , disappearing Dlaw , yet to come on Williams , marginal Fowler is the issue. DTs not even worth mentioning

Dang didn’t even give my guy Mullen a chance

I only watch the Cowboys so I don't know who he is or his potential. I read right now he was a former 2nd round pick (40th overall) and the defensive MVP in the college championship game. Obviously he was good in college. Since you said "My guy" you know more about him than I do, so what's going on with him in the NFL? Has he been hurt, not playing up to his potential, trouble maker, or a like Kelvin Joseph just don't have the mental awareness from smoking too much ganja? His Wiki bio doesn't say much about him.

Mullins has talent. I hope we don’t draft a cornerback high again. Let’s move Bland to the 2nd corner when Lewis returns next season.

Cardinals traded for him. They ran a scheme he isn’t good in. They basically dumped him to avoid the extra compensation. He needs to be in a press man scheme as opposed to a zone and read. This is from a few seasons back
“(Mullen) has been a standout player thus far — particularly in press-man coverage, where his length and physicality come in handy.

On such snaps, Mullen has recorded a 90.8 coverage grade, which leads all cornerbacks. For perspective, the next best sits at 86.9, and then there is only one other corner to produce a grade above 80.0. Mullen has seen five targets when playing press-man and allowed just one to be caught while recording three forced incompletions.”
