My bro-in-law is one. He used to be a Chiefs fan and told me he was switching to the Commanders because they had the same colors as the chiefs. I laughed in his face and told him if he is going to bandwagon, then he should at least go to a winning team. He then went to the Panthers, but after last years debacle, he switched to the Giants this year. Now he is rubbing it in saying they are 4-0 and they ruined our stadium opening and all that crap....My pinkie knows more about football than him but all I can do is shake my head. I should've just allowed him to be a Commanders fan.

Just do what I do. Cut him off and tell him that you don't listen to, or acknowledge, the opinions of Johnny Come Latelys. That usually shuts up the bandwagon crowd.

Ummm...I know you're only 18 so you get a pass :) but the majority of people who know, know that as Troy Aikman once stated, "Dallas is not a Cowboys town...it's a winners town."

In traveling all over this great country to see the Cowboys play from Buffalo to San Diego, some of the most die-hard, intelligent and loyal fans are the ones have never been in the state of Texas. These are people who have an emotional investment in a team that they've only seen on television since they were kids.

Texas is great, I love Dallas...but never confuse the truer fan base.

Its a lot different living in New York or Washington DC and being a die hard Cowboys fan. I've been a Cowboys fan since I was nine and started watching football. The first game this season was the first Dallas game I've been to live. It doesn't make you any less of a fan if you dont live in Texas.....

Anyone who is suddenly deciding not to be a fan wasn't ever a real fan to begin with and are the type of fans we don't need anyway.

Agreed

I agree they latch on to winning. The difference is as a hardcore fan who is willing to hang with the team in good times and bad it makes the winning more enjoyable because you experienced the bad times.

Fixed that for you, because it is happening. I've talked to two people who claimed to be Cowboys fans say that they are finding a new team because Romo sucks and it's embarrassing to root for a bunch of losers. Those type of fans are the ones that never talk about the Cowboys or wear any gear, but as soon as the Cowboys start playing good and winning, they come out of the woodworks. Those fans are jumping ship quickly.

Yeah :laugh2: I left it out on purpose. The "TRUE" fans know who they are. Period.

Yeah... wearing the gear in NY is tough. But I do it.

You wanna laugh.... right now I have a customized shirt that I bought two of. One is a Yankee one and the other was a Yankee one. I like the shirt so much that I bought two and unthreaded the NY in the middle and have a seamstress sewing the Dallas star in the middle LOL

Should be done friday. Yeah!!

I deal with "proud Patriots fans since 2002" on a daily basis.

I love to ask them to name three Patriots QB's.

Shuts just about all of them up in a hurry.

Most of them can't name two!

If only they'd take the "my team right or wrong" zealots with them.

Mike! - He doesn't need his name up in lights
He just wants to be heard whether it's the beat or the mic
He feels so unlike everybody else, alone
In spite of the fact that some people still think that they know him
But **** em, he knows the code
It's not about the salary
It's all about reality and making some noise
Makin the story - makin sure his clique stays up
That means when he puts it down Tak's pickin it up! let's go!

Who the hell is he anyway?
He never really talks much
Never concerned with status but still leavin them star struck
Humbled through opportunities given to him despite the fact
That many misjudge him because he makes a livin from writin raps
Put it together himself, now the picture connects
Never askin for someone's help, to get some respect
He's only focused on what he wrote, his will is beyond reach
And now when it all unfolds, the skill of an artist

------

I have no idea why, but you're the first person that comes to mind when I hear this song.... :laugh2: Ya know, except for the "he never really talks much" part.

During my entire existence on this gracious planet, IHowever, yesterday was the last straw for me...

(You write this? Dude, you need a ghostrider)

But it's OK because I deal with it, realizing that the people who talk trash to me don't know half as much as I know about football.

I think they do know more than you

Through all this I've stayed upbeat

Bless you, son

Now, this leads me into Mr. Romo. I have defended Tony Romo from Day One. I've stuck with him through every snap

I am sure he deppreciates this, zrin

I've stuck by all of Romo's off the field antics, with his girlfriends, vacations, and other sport ambitions. I've always supported him as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys...until now.

Boo-hoo!

Tony Romo needs to call up Peyton Manning and have a long talk about what it takes to succeed in the NFL at the quarterback position.
Just some quick notes from the weekend...

And you call 1-800-No-Writr

Glad you took off the scarf. It was constricting your thought process.

And let's get one think strait. You are NO WARRENREPORT. You just write long.:D
Keep up the good work!

I'll turn 47 next week and have been a Cowboy fan since about 1970 or so. I've been through many great years and some bad (late 1980's, and early this decade). I'll forever be one of the biggest Dallas Cowboy fans that has ever lived. I'll always support the team and I'll watch every damn game and pull for them with everything I have. I'll wear my Cowboy shirts, etc. regardless of their record. However, I'm not going to invest myself so emotionally in them anymore. I have always been depressed the entire week following a loss, and particularly following a big loss. It's not healthy for me. My wife and daughter can't stand to be around me when they lose. That's no way to live life. Again, I'll always be the biggest fan on the planet, but I'm not going to let something I have absolutely zero control over cause such turmoil in my personal life. I know it's not true, but sometimes I truly feel that I want them to win more than the players do.
