You may recall an episode from an early season of The Sopranos, where a U.S. Attorney is grilling Uncle Junior Soprano, offering to drop charges against him if Junior would give up the names of bigger bosses. ''We want Johnny Sack,'' he's told, ''but more than him, we want Mangano and Teresi.''

"And I want Angie Dickinson,'' Junior tartly replies, ''let's see who gets lucky first.''

The Cowboys love LSU safety Patrick Peterson. It's one of most open secrets of the draft season. The odds were already very low that he could somehow fall to nine, but after Peterson's eye-popping workout yesterday, Dallas has as much of a chance with Peterson as Uncle Junior did with the actress. His 4.3 times at 219 pounds may push him to the top spot overall. If it doesn't, Peterson's bank account will be shocked if he drops out of the top three. As the National Football Post's Matt Bowen, a former NFL DB puts it, ...

Unless the guy is going to slide to 9, which is extremely unlikely, I hope he is taken within the first few picks. I don't want Dallas to be tempted to give away a high pick to move up to 6ish for him. This is a draft for Dallas to stay put or move back a little IMO.

Same here. Do not trade up for one player.
Sit and wait and see how it breaks.
Trade down a little if a good deal shows up.

Only trade up if it costs a third. Nothing more. And frankly I do not consider him worth it.

I agree. Giving a 3rd to move up a couple of spots I would have no problem with. Giving up a 2nd is just to rich for my blood.

And Namdi can be had for only money...

something i was saying weeks ago....

sign nmandi (because PP is going top 3) and move down in the draft to get 2 quality OL and a starting DL in the first two rounds.

A move to the middle of the round nets ammo to do just that.
