I liked the guy, thought he was a steal in the 7th but I think it's fair to say he didn't work out here, he clearly hasn't worked out in Chicago so why is signing him a priority?

Well, of course, they do. They also need to re-sign B.W. Webb if he becomes available, along with Matt Johnson, Danny Coale and Caleb McSurdy. Man, we miss those guys!

Fortunately for us, somehow Johnson, Coale and McSurdy are available, too.

Why stop there, Victor Butler was released today too!

Chicago has probably the worst secondary in the entire NFL.......................if they didn't want him, why the hell would we?

I wouldn't bring him back but maybe next year I would get him and try to make him a WLB. I damn sure wouldn't want him anywhere in the secondary. The guy can lay the wood, that's for sure, but he can't cover for ****.

However, if he was missing meetings or being late for them (and by all accounts he was)... then he isn't coming back. [pacman]Point blank, period. [/pacman]

We also need to pick up McQuiston, to replace free.

The guy had a somewhat bad attitude. He was a hit first cover second safety and had two illegal hits in the preseason. When asked to change his style he said No...

Good idea; although, the LBs are the brain of this scheme. In order to make it really simple for the DLinemen, Marinelli removed most of the requirements for them to read to the play and put all of that onto the LBs. Dixon doesn't seem like a smart player but some of that could just be attitude instead of a lack intelligence.

I expect the Cowboys to re-sign Matt Johnson in the off-season.

Dixon couldn't cover anyone at Baylor, he's a head case, and he failed to show up for meetings during training camp.

Nope.

I actually could see that. They like his ability, but health is the question mark. It costs nothing to bring him to camp and see if he can stay healthy.

Of course, then the question becomes can you expect him to remain healthy enough that you're willing to cut someone else to keep him on the roster.

He was the only one of the players I listed who wasn't cut for not being good enough to be on the roster ... although Dixon might have been as much for attitude as ability. Although if his ability had been amazing, his attitude wouldn't have mattered.

Why stop there, Victor Butler was released today too!

I actually enjoyed him when he was here.

He did not get to play much but when he did he always seemed to make at least one play.

Since he has been gone and I see a player in camp with 57 on the jersey I still, in my mind, think it is butler.

Silly I know.

Don't give xwalker any ideas.

No to McUgly, but if Parnell leaves and Free stays in 2015, lookout Weems and Hawkins, you could be my new pet cats. :D

If Parnell stays, lookout Tyron, I might start advocating for Parnelll to take over at LT if Tyron has some more below average games.;)

He had some pass rush ability, but he had issues mentally playing in the scheme. The Strong Side OLB position in both RR's and Wade's defense was very difficult mentally. You had to know when to rush, play coverage or play the run and he just couldn't figure that out. He might have been better as a Weak Side DE in some schemes; although, I don't know if he is really big enough for that.
