How'd he do with the Dolphins?
Okay, so how many Head Coaches in NFL history have ever won Super Bowls for two different teams?

That's none, and do you know why?

It's because excellent coaching is just one of the many attributes required to build a Super Bowl team. There is also talent, discipline, team leadership, depth, opponent strength, chemistry, combined commitment, opportunity, and yes, even some luck as it pertains to injuries.

Head Coaching is a critical requirement but there will always be other elements that contributed to make their championship possible. The Cowboys team of the 90's, besides excellent coaching, had incredible talent, depth and great leadership.

The fact that a HC can win a Super Bowl and then take another team to the playoffs is exactly how you identify the all-time great HC's in NFL history, guys like Don Shula, Bill Parcells, Dick Vermeil and.....Jimmy Johnson.

I agree with you AC. Just showing the numbers. Landry’s teams definitely dominated an entire decade in the 70s in the NFC and had 20 straight winning seasons (not 20 straight playoff seasons)

Heres another way of looking at the the Jones era:
  • Jimmy Johnson Years: 1989-93. Had 7 playoff wins and two SB wins in 5 seasons.
  • Barry Switzer (with mostly the team Jimmy built) 1994-97. Had 5 playoff wins and 1 SB in 4 seasons.
  • Since then…under 6 different HCs, we have 4 playoff wins in 29 seasons.

The 3rd bullet point is a drop the mic and walk of the stage, nothing else needs to be said.

Yeah, and if you take away all the wins they've had when Jerry was the owner, he'd have 0 wins!

Jerry hired Jimmy. Jerry paid him. Jerry financed all those moves. Without Jerry there is no Jimmy. Without Jerry, the Cowboys may have folded. You hate him for "destroying what you love" while avoiding the fact that he kept what you loved alive.
Lovely sentiment. It does not change the fact that he is not an effective GM. Unlike every other NFL GM, Jerry bought his occupation. The rest of the GMs had to earn it and perform well to keep the job. Support for Jerry Jones is what disingenuous Cowboys fans do. You’re a phony fan.

I'm a phony fan? Lol. This whole thread has been about the Cowboys and their lack of success. Everyone here is either a real fan or a fan of another team. All the bandwagon fans left long ago. I just don't see Jerry as the only reason we haven't won a Super Bowl. There are 31 other teams out there every season trying to win a Super Bowl. There are some franchises who have never been to a Super Bowl, let alone won one, or multiples. All those other GM's who have "earned" their position don't win the Super Bowl every year, or ever. Add in, Jerry will be dead soon. Get over it.
