Cowboys 'No' on Hardy

Not surprised but disappointed.

Hardy was the one guy left out there that could make a substantial impact for this team in 2015.

I am perplexed as to what the FO is thinking with regards to their holes. There's no one left that can make a big impact for this team in the FA market. And frankly, counting on the draft to get those immediate impact players is a huge risk.

Maybe the FO is thinking they won't get him for a full season, don't want to pay all that money and has questions about a guy who collects guns at displays them so carelessly throughout his apartment.

I hope the Cowboys don't sign him.

Hardy believes that he has both the legal systems and the NFL by the *****.

Unless there was a drastic home field advantage, then this was a no brainer to this fan at least.

Certainly not better at this point....2-3 days in and with about 120-130 days or so until the season starts....fortunately.

Where we are in August is what maters.

I bet we make at least 30-40 moves between now and then.

But most of those moves will be fringe moves, depth moves, etc.

This team needed IMPACT additions on the defensive side of the ball. We got exactly ZERO impact players in FA. Basically, it's the draft or bust in terms of finding real, significant defensive help for 2015. That's an awfully big risk IMO.

I like fisher he's usually good but lately he's not been great. Especially w MURRAY coverage saying we were gonna get him back etc and he didn't mention a thing about McFadden when supposedly it's been in play for weeks

So as it stands right now The butcher's favorite player is the highest ranked available edge rusher left on the market...yep that be George Selvie folks...

Do we know for sure that Fish is correct? Or that his source is 100% telling the truth?

I'd say they likely are but Dallas might not want anyone to know they're negotiating with him and if that is the case the front office wouldn't be telling reporters what is going on.

Right now the Liquor store clerk has more info than Fisher.

I would say as quiet is has been since the start of the week, the reporters would have known about McFadden, which they didn't, the newest FB, which they didn't. Until they can quote Stephen Jones or until Hardy signs with someone, I won't believe anything from any of these guys.

Agreed has been my thought throughout no way JG brings him in just doesn't fit with the character type of guys he covets...

I agree. Nobody steps out of a meeting to tell Fish anything.

Nobody knows right now. Remember "mystery" team.

It all depends on what he wants I suspect. If he's expecting to get the 5 year/15 per year deal with 40% guaranteed, then the Cowboys are smart to run from that deal for a player who you can't trust to stay out of trouble. If its something shorter like a prove it deal he signs and we're out on it I'd be somewhat disappointed.

Good we don't need a guy like that and who has been out a year and has the attitude that can get paid and not show up

At this point going BPA in the draft is not going to be easy. RB, LB, DE, CB all need to be addressed. The pass rush will be questionable at best again next year. Hardy is the one guy that could completely remove a need thats left. Disappointing if this is true.

ESPN tweet saying Raiders are not negotiating with Hardy, this stuff is irritating.

Broaddus actually knew about McFadden. He mentioned he heard some of the people in the halls(whatever that means) discussing the possibility of McFadden on Wednesday night on 105.3 the fan. i thought he was pretty nuts that night but he was right. I do agree that the Cowboys may be taking the quiet approach with this Hardy situation.
