Ratliff not at Valley Ranch as Cowboys continue to look at options
Defensive tackle Jay Ratliff was not at Valley Ranch on Monday, but coach Jason Garrett said he wasn’t expected as the Cowboys continue to evaluate whether he will be able to practice now that he is eligible to come off the PUP list.
“We need to see him do a lot of things,” Garrett said. “He hasn’t practiced football in a long time. So we’ll have those discussions tonight and tomorrow and figure out what our plan is.”
The Cowboys have until Nov. 4 to activate him from the PUP list or put him on season-ending injured reserved.
Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher said it would be great to get Ratliff back, but he knows it is not a sure thing.
"It would mean a lot. He’s an awesome ballplayer," Hatcher said. "Unfortunately, what I’m hearing, it’s not good news. I’m going to stay out of that subject. But I wish him the best in all he's got in the near future."

here's the thing...
you've been in dallas your entire career. you know no other team, no other city, no other way of life. you are established here and you have a great opportunity to play for the best dline coach in the nfl. your brothers ware and hatcher have been by your side thru many years of disappointment. now your boys are hurting. ware is hurt, spencer is out, brent is in jail, crawford is gone. your team NEEDS you. this franchise NEEDS you. the FANS...the only fans you know...NEED you. what the hell could make someone so stubborn to not give one damn about any of this is beyond me and is really starting to tick me off. stop being an emo weirdo and suit up rat. this is coming from a ratliff defender since day 1. i'm really sick of this ****.
w dHe thinks he needs further surgery or more time on his groin. The Cowboys think he can play through it. He thinks if he does he'll need more surgery at the end of the season, when he'll likely be unemployed.
How do you know what Ratliff thinks? Honest question.
w d
It's been from a lot of "friend of a friend" sources. I 100% understand if you or someone would call B.S. on that sort of thing, and I can't say I wouldn't do that myself if I hadn't heard it from enough different people to believe it.

The Cowboys should be able to susped him or fine him. How can you get paid so much money and not even have the decency of rehabing with your team.
He should give half his pay to Hatcher.
The advantage to not cutting Ratliff is hope he comes back
What's the advantage to bashing him or cutting him if you want his help?
i don't understand this Ratliff saga, why can't the organization just come out and give a definitive answer on whether he is staying or not? What possible advantage is there to keeping this whole thing under wraps?
