We weren't one of the top eight this year in the playoffs, so what makes us top six? I can understand saying that we're maybe top 10, but we didn't justify being considered top six since we lost in the wild-card round. As Parcells would say, "You are what you are."
You are basing too much on 1 game.

The current odds.
Which are meaningless.

But even if you think it’s accurate it shows there are 5 top teams and then lists 6 in the next tier which includes Dallas. So for their odds, Dallas is between 6 and 11.

A good chance that we are good again next year. They still have outstanding talent and they know where they have to improve which is dtackle, linebacker, center, and running back.

And what are you basing top six on? We lost that one game pretty badly. Right now, there's no reason to believe we're ahead of the team that beat us or other teams that advanced out of the first round.

Nope, I'm just more realistic than the average fan and don't jump off of the deep end and pile on with negativity. The Cowboys are currently a top 6 team even with the playoff failure. They have a good shot at being in the mix again next season, but they certainly need to fix some weak points to get over the hump.
People keep harping on that like its a badge of honor. They're losers, plain and simple. But what's worse is they don't seem to care.

It's not one game. It's SF, Buffalo, Miami, Detroit had the game the refs gave it Dallas. It's the way they lose. They get run over and it's not even close. Packers are a more of a contender. Vegas odds are for betting and they base their odds so they even out the bets.

The refs did not give the Detroit game to Dallas.

Unless things change, which they won't, the odds are just barely above zero. Like winning the lottery near zero.
They can't even get to the NFC championship game let alone win the super bowl. Almost 3 decades of never getting past the divisional round is a disgrace. Jerry Jones has been an absolute failure and a joke as a GM.

How many new starters at these four primary need positions do you realistically think we would acquire who will be upgrades?

Last year we got zero first year starters from the draft. I doubt we zero in on higher end FA’s, costs too much.

I can see us getting a starting center in an early round. Not sure about the rest with this front office. Not to mention we also need help at WR and DE on top of the 4 main needs.

Then we need to change the culture, have Mike learn how to manage the clock and situational football, and not have Dak get the yips if we make it back to the playoffs.

I'll give you everything but the Detroit game. We had it won until they made the phantom tripping call. And we won it fair and square when the Lions attempted subterfuge on the two-point conversion. Without that subterfuge, we would have known who to cover. Maybe the Lions score anyway, but we don't know that. All we know is that the wrong number was announced, which misled our defense on who to cover and made the player who caught the ball ineligible.

You want to make the point that we lost fairly and squarely to SF, Buffalo and Miami, I'm with you. But we beat Detroit, and would have still beaten the Lions if the calls that were missed were made correctly, since we would have been able to run down the clock before the Lions' last possession.

The only "odd" one is you thinking this team is ever going to win a SB. Damn, you act like a little kid waiting on Santa when you know there is no such thing!
he's got to be Rockport's brother. They have hope. :muttley:

You're one of those type of fans who would still think the super bowl was possible even if Dallas had a 1-15 record.

Jerry loves fans like you.......

49ers installed as early favorites to win Super Bowl LIX

Published February 12, 2024 08:12 AM

The 49ers lost to the Chiefs on Sunday night and the AFC champions are the No. 2 team on boards as we kick off the offseason. The Ravens, who lost to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, are No. 3 and the Lions and Bills round out the top five, although the order of those final two teams isn’t uniform.

Six teams make up the next block as oddsmakers have the Bengals, Cowboys, Eagles, Dolphins, Packers, and Texans in varying orders. The Chargers, Jets, Rams, and Jaguars are the next group and Caesars Sportsbook assistant director Adam Pullen told ESPN that they’ve seen a lot of early action backing the Lions and Chargers.
Vegas ridiculing Cowboy Nation for bringing in the cash as they know our Homer levels are the highest in the league.
Year 30 coming up and we're still SB-bound!!! :muttley:
