Cowboys Offense Surprising No.1

Don’t look now, but the Dallas Cowboys have the number one ranked offense in the NFL. No, this is not my personal opinion, and no I did not make this up, I’m serious. While the Cowboys may not be ranked number one in the rushing or passing game, collectively they are the best.

So what does it take to be ranked number one? Well the Cowboys are producing an outstanding 420.4 yards per game this year. The Cowboys are ranked third in the rush averaging 161 yards per game, and eighth in the passing game averaging 259.4 yards per game.

While the Cowboys have accomplished this ranking against three teams with a losing record, let us not forget that they have also played against the two best defenses in the league (Giants No.1, Broncos No.2) so its not a completely deceiving stat.

Take it for what you will, but you just can’t argue with the numbers. If the defense can improve from its 21st overall ranking, maybe just maybe these Cowboys have a shot to escape this season with a winning record. But that is certainly a big IF.

Ad 3rd in penalty yards.

Anybody who's watched the last 3 games can tell the defense has been putting it's foot down (until the last minutes of the game) while the offense has moved the ball at will but keeps shooting itself in the foot.

Anyone stating otherwise has an alterior motive.

That's yards.

Points? Panthers 29th, Broncos 19th, Chiefs 22nd.

This defense stinks.

Who cares? We held down the offenses we were supposed to. The defense stinks? I'm gonna say you haven't watched the games but from your posts you probably did but still don't know what's going on.

Their running game is much better this year with Pierre Thomas. A guy kinda flying under the radar.

if by flying under the radar, you mean sidelined during the first few games, and only really played in one or two games.

4th in total penalties. We are up there with the likes of Buffalo, St. Louis, KC, Detroit, and Oakland.

now if we can just start converting all these yards into points and the defence can stop falling to bits at the end of games (though they held firm in overtime) we'll be laughing. this team is not a long way from being a threat

you beat me to it. Yards are not a problem for this offense, it's points. Sure they're 7th in the league in scoring, but it's not how much you score, it's *WHEN* you score. It's also scoring TDs in the redzone instead of settling for FGs. .

that is because of another little stat known as TURNOVERS

if we dont give the Giants 24 points and the Broncos 7-10 points with stupid turnovers, we are sitting at 5-0.....

If you read this site and listen to analysts the sky is falling. Cowboys have the best offense in the league? Maybe we should hold off on firing Garrett? All he is is just producing the best offense in football even though he's missed maybe his two best offensive options in Barber and Felix Jones.

So we weren't supposed to hold down the Giants offense?

The defense stinks. Don't be naive.

Be a fan. But don't be ignorant to the fact that this defense is underachieving like a mothertrucker right now.
