I thought I'd see more posts about the offense under Garrett's leadership. It has to worry some people that such a productive offense is going to be run by a first time OC. I hope he plans on more tweaking than overhauling. Especially since it's Romo's first full season as a starter and he'd have to start learning a whole new scheme. It worries me.

He's already said that it will remain largely the same with some new wrinkles added in.

We retained Tony Sporano - so I wonder why you think we are going to overhaul the scheme setting a team back at least a year?

Doubtless Garrett does not plan wholesale changes. That would be counter-productive. He more likely is working with Sporano to keep alot of the terminolog the same, and find out what his best players do best.

I'm not concerned and feel Garrett will do a great job. He may be new as far as OC go but he is not new to the game and with the offensive weapons we have I think he will be able to keep the offense on the right track.

garret said it will be a similar offense with his new influence, He said he will keep last years offense, plus norv, payton and grudens influence will be there.

The players, Witten and Romo anyway are happy that garret uses the passing tree.

Here is a simple example of the passing tree.

I bet he would have attacked Seattle's secondary.:bang2:

Yes, I read that Seattle couldn't believe we didn't attack their poor secondary. I suspect part of the problem may have been our poor OL play last half of season which contributed to Romo's inability to move the pocket as much as he successfully did earlier. I do think Garrett plans to have designated plays to roll Romo out and take advantage of his good ability to throw on the run. Just wonder if he rolls to the right or to the left.

Point is most of us would be more worried if we didn't make such an effort to keep Sparano to mesh along with Garrett and then add in Wade Wilson to work with Romo cause Brad Johnson isn't going to be main recipient of his advice.

If Garrett does do very well, how long before somebody snatches him away to become a HC?

I'd like to think 4-5 years at least. Maybe it will be handshake between him and Jerry to become our HC once Phillips is gone.

i just hope T.O. is involved in more freelance short routes to where he can run after the catch.

No I hope TO just runs his routes better than he did last year

Freelancing tends to lead to int's and causes chaos to your own offense

If nothing else I am excited about the collaboration of Romo, TO and Garrett. Not discounting our other weapons... but just those three alone should be explosive.

Garrett knows what works and what doesnt work in the NFL.. from his playing experience, sideline experience as a player and his sideline experience as a spectator/asssistant.... etc...

I feel we can overcome his youth and inexperience... after all we almost overcame the stranglehold that BP had on much of this team

If he's Payton like with his play calling then I doubt Jerry, will let him get away.
