I'm the new Board King.

I just recieved word that the Cowboys offered Colombo a one year deal for 3.5 million with the option of a second year at 3.5 million.
MichaelWinicki;1412849 said:Hey, does anyone know what sort of offer we made to Colombo?
TheSport78;1412435 said:yeah i was afraid it was just another dallas beat writer repeating the news from two days ago...but that would never happen right??? lol

thanks for postin WGWoodysGirl;1413052 said:Dick Hinthorn, McAllen, Texas: If I heard correctly when Andre Gurode got his face stepped on at Tennessee, it was Marc Colombo who pushed the stepper away, but no one else did anything. To me his value as a teammate and enforcer is very high. I want those kinds of people on my team who will put themselves out to help his team. I think Colombo paid his dues with his salary already last year. You can see I like Colombo.
Mickey: Yep, sure can, and know the Cowboys like Colombo, too. That is why they have offered him the two-year, $7 million deal, and with $5 million in signing bonus and base salary stuffed into the first year. That is why they've told him, you come back and do in 2007 what you did last year and we'll be ripping up the second year and signing you to a long-term deal. That is why they have patiently left the offer on the table, not seeming to mind his agent shopping around the deal. Just remember, with a guy who basically has played - started - one full season in the NFL, you don't want to become hasty signing him to a long-term deal. You need a little more proof than that.
