You see special units like WR, RB, DB's, etc, but you just don't see very special teams.

What you have to do is find a way to minimize your weakness.

Most teams skimp on their OL.

The Cowboy weakness is their defense and they minimize that weakness by not giving up big plays and playing good redzone defense.

So what does that say when we beat the most? I tell you one thing, what you point out says absolutely nothing about Cowboys...
That we are a good team. But remember when people were crowing about beating Philly Cincinnati and Greenbay and demanding respect?

Now the Commanders are who we point to?

Wait a minute, I was told that we only win against garbage teams.

There are only weak teams. The minnesota win is more impressive than the Commanders wins.

Sorry but I don't consider it impressive when we pretty much cancel out 6 drives with penalty and turnover. I do consider what we did versus Washington impressive because we played very well on offense and kept one of the most explosive teams on offense down in points, while not in yards.

There is nothing weak about the way that Pitt, Balt or Washington played us, They were at their best those games. Philly was at its best when we beat them as well.

Misleading stat when we have 11 wins overall. Of the "winning" teams we beat Washington is unlikely to make the playoffs and one of Pitt and Baltimore almost certainly won't make the playoffs.
OMG, some people are impossible to make happy. So now we can only count wins against playoff teams? They've won 11 ****** games! You can only play the teams that are on your schedule, and they've beaten all but 1 of them. The patriots 2 wins against winning teams came against a BigBen-less steelers and the dolphins. Good chance neither of them makes the playoffs. Does that mean the pats aren't any good?

You should just kick back and enjoy the season. Or if you want misery, become a bears or niners fan.

I never said we should only count wins against playoff teams. But the premise of this thread is we should be beating our chests because we beat the Commanders, Ravens and Steelers. Not a good team among them.

No need to apologize for that... But I'm not going to crown them either...

Why are you sorry?

There is nothing about being wrong to apologize for. Just learn from it.

This thread was started because of people like you who never ever ever ever give Dallas the credit it deserves. If any other team in the league was 11-1 you'd be slobbering all over their you know whats. But we shouldn't be proud of any of our victories. Ok. Sounds legit.

Frankly I don't share your insecurity that Dallas will disappoint me and I don't have to hedge my bets. I can confidently say Dallas is the best team in the league and SB favorites. Doesn't scare me. Doesn't make me a homer. You are what your record says you are. Scoreboard. I'm not afraid of defeat. Maybe one day you'll regrow your ballsack and man up. But I'm not waiting for that either.

I don't know what world you live in but mine isn't black or white. I love this team and appreciate what it is. That doesn't mean I have to gloss over all negatives and just ride the wave. We've had a weak schedule and taken advantage of it. No shame in that.

Yep...pretty much the quality win Kings right now (4-1)...today. Hopefully they add another win to that column on Sunday. Seattle is next a 3-1...the Raiders slipped to 3-3 after last night. The Giants certainly took care of their "weakies", but it's how you place against the big boys that matters.

I don't know what to say. Are the Bucs, at 7-5 the definition of what might be called a good team? Are the Seahawks for that matter, who could not manage more than 5 points against them...2 coming off a safety? Minnesota, Baltimore, and Philadelphia were all, at one time or another this year the #1 DVOA defense under FootballOutsiders' metrics...no bullcrap like yards given up. Even the Steelers are 8th in defensive DVOA. Four tough defenses...four wins. Sooner or later you have to face the uncomfortable truth that the Cowboys have a highly effective offense...perhaps better when they are not on the tail end of a 12 day, 3 game run in which they win all three games. Who's left to beat? Atlanta, Seattle, the cardiac Lions?...all have warts as well. At home I like the Cowboys' chances against all three. Even New England, minus Gronkowski, fail to prompt a high level of fear.

I don't think i've ever said we don't have a highly effective offense. In fact let me tell you unequivocally that I think we have a highly effective offense.

How many teams had winning records WHEN we played them? If that belongs in the conversation, than that Stat is even more impressive.

It's getting worse, too. I blame college football for not producing NFL caliber players like it used to.

Meh the college game is fine. This is just a down year. I mean even just look at 2015.

Last year there were a tremendous amount of "great teams."

You had:

12 Win Patriots
12 Win Broncos
11 Win Chiefs
12 Win Bengals
13 Win Cardinals
11 Win Vikings
14 Win Panthers

And that's before you get to teams like the 10 win Packers, Seahawks and Steelers (Jets also had 10 wins but they didn't seem very impressive).

This year how many teams do you think match those? Cowboys? Seahawks? Patriots? Chiefs? Raiders? And scene?
