This is the glaring point that seems to be recurring. What was his price last year? 15m$ AAV? 13m$? Less?

Actually, I may have been talking out of my rear end.

My assumption was that his AAV would have been somewhere between 12-16M, but that was probably unrealistic even signing early.

Alim McNeill is probably a decent comp-- he fills a different role, but he is another DT taken just a few spots ahead of Osa in the 2021 draft.

He was extended last year and has an AAV of 24.5M.

So maybe this is the best we could've hoped for.

I can’t believe people think otherwise. The cap is shooting up and fans need to recalibrate on these numbers a bit. DT is a premium position. Osa is a good player and he is only 26. I bet he has his best years during this deal. The team is paper thin at DL. It’s a good deal.

Williams wasn't 100 percent healthy this season. He is solid player with a big upside. Watch him against Texas.
