Is there anybody in the NFL more primed for a massive season than Micah Parsons? The young superstar seems like he is just starting to scratch the surface of his potential. The anticipation for his 2023 campaign is something not only Cowboys fans are feeling, but so are many others around the league.

In Parsons’ first two seasons, he has fully entrenched himself as a gigantic star in the NFL and an absolutely vital piece to the Cowboys defense, now and in the future. Soon we will be talking about the massive contract he will command, but in the meantime let’s take a look at his impressive production in his first two years and discuss what may be possible in year three.

Parsons finished his rookie season with a sack total of 13 and upped that by a half sack in 2022 when he finished with 13.5. While those numbers are impressive, especially for a guy who was asked to do so many other things than to just pass rush, some feel that Parsons tailed off towards the end of the year as he got worn down and the attrition of the season got to him a bit. Parsons has vowed to put on more weight to help him in the trenches as he looks to tally more pass rush reps in 2023.

Take the under every time. He could hit 23, but it's not a smart bet. TJ Watt has only hit 16 sacks one time.

There is just too much variance in sack production to assume something that prolific.

Everyone was predicting massive sack totals for him last year at this time. The more teams keep focusing on him the tougher it will be getting to the QB. I just want to see him become a complete player. Having him preoccupied rushing the QB is just wearing him down. By the end of the season he hasn’t had much left in his tank.

I think he gets 11 in the first 7 weeks and then finishes with 15

He has bulked up quite a bit. Will this impact his speed? Can he remain healthy? It’s possible for sure.

I say under.

I think he has evolved more strongly and will be monitored more closely by his Defensive Coordinator this season - closer to only being on the field for 80% of the plays.

He's closer to a veteran linebacker's weight. He is quick and with more technique now.

Under.
He's not going to be used exclusively as an end rusher. He'll play linebacker at times, which will limit the chances he gets to pursue the quarterback.
Then, he'll be double team, which will free up Sam Williams, whom I expect to get about nine sacks this season. Parsons will be on load management this year. We will need him fresh for the stretch run to the Super Bowl.
That will mean fewer sacks but greater durability.
I'll say he reaches 14.

We have some others on the Dline that should grow..add in the DT with Mazi and the teams total sacks should go up..now will teams let Williams and others gash them to block Micah is the question.

id take the under with him, but take the over on our sack total being top 5 in the NFL...he elevates everyone around him and is going to be game planned for more and more...but with mazi coming in and a few other pieces, there is going to be pressure coming from all over the field that teams simply cannont block..

buckle up, its going to be fun

Exactly, you may block Parson but thats gonna leave 2 to 3 other good rushers in 1v1, I'm with you #11 may not set a sack record be he will be the reason our teams sack totals is very high.

Bosa topped the edge-rushers, which isn't a shock after he led the NFL with 18.5 sacks last season, his second straight season with 15 or more sacks.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett came in at No. 2, followed by Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons at No. 3.

"It wouldn't surprise me if he's No. 1 by next year," one NFL coordinator told Fowler regarding Parsons. "His talent is undeniable."

If Sam makes a big impact, offenses are going to have to account for him if they are both on the field at the same time. You never know when Parsons will be coming in from his LB position. If our D stays healthy, I think we might have a top 7 group this year. Might. Injuries have a huge impact on teams each year.

I wonder what the over/under will be for offensive lineman, RBs and TEs that hold him and aren’t called for it….

Lot's of luck on that one...The offensive line coach needs to stay on the officials and report it up when it occurs. They should have plenty of pictures on hand to show an official.

That and Lawrence inside some, tickles my fancy.
