Signed by Cowboys Cowboys place Parker Ehinger on injured reserve, resign Kadeem Edwards

The Cowboys made a trade with the Chiefs last week to acquire guard Parker Ehinger in order to improve their depth on the offensive line, but Ehinger’s stay on the active roster turned out to be a short one.

The Cowboys announced on Friday that Ehinger has been placed on injured reserve. Ehinger injured his knee in practice on Wednesday.

Former Texans guard Xavier Su'a-Filo worked out for the Cowboys on Thursday, but the team went a different direction when it came to filling the open roster spot.

They signed Kadeem Edwards instead. Edwards spent last year on the practice squad and made the initial 53-man roster this year before being waived after the Cowboys claimed Adam Redmond.

Redmond, Edwards and Cameron Fleming are the reserve offensive linemen in Dallas as long as center Travis Frederick remains out of action.

They'll likely carry an extra OL on the gameday roster. The new guy Adam Redmond as the backup Center and Edwards as the backup OG. Last year Looney was the only interior backup active on gameday.

Feel bad for Parker.

2 years of season ending injuries in 3 years. Go from starter to IR to bench(2017 PUP to start) to traded to IR.
Not much recent tape out there anymore for him.

The newly acquired OL is going to the IR. We lost depth in our secondary to fill a void on our offensive line and now were thin at OL with the loss of Ehinger. Man, trading Ward a week ago looks terrible now.

and yet I see complaint after complaint regarding holding out certain players for safety concerns in the "are we prepared" thread. vets don't need the preseason games. rookies do. maybe it's not such a bad idea.
