I agree. I think he has been invisible until about the middle of this past season. If that in itself is not a red flag…..
But it’s easier than doing the actual work on available players they don’t “know.”
Funny how that strategy burns them again and again (Steele, Diggs, Gallup to name a few), yet they keep going back to it.
The logic around here seems to be that they need DTs, so don’t let him leave, but it also means you aren’t going to get any better either…which they very much need to, be that with depth or taking a shot that a top dradt pick is the next Donald or Carter….and maybe that pick isn’t this year. Signing Osa handcuffs them and will never take that shot,
Tagging him is dumb, as this team has no shot to compete this season, but I’m sure they don’t see it that way. It’s the usual Jones logic….pay them more and the guys that weren’t good enough suddenly will be. It’s really nothing more than an accentuation of how unqualified our GM/s actually are.
The bottom line is they continue to make dumb moves because they are easy. Hell, they wanted to give Randy Gregory the bag. They aren’t good at this and never will be. Period. We shouldn’t really expect anything different.
