Cowboys plan on franchise tagging Osa

Osa aint Chris Jones
At 20 million id move on from Osa
OK, now tell us the 3 dtackles that they are going to need to go with Smith. Who are they? Why gamble when you can lock in a solid player before free agency and the draft? A good chance that Washington would sign Osa if they let him go. Anyway, they are keeping Osa and it is likely that they sign him because they are going to keep him out of free agency and use the cap declaration as a place holder while negotions continue.

This franchise sucks beyond sucking. Osa O is tagged on absolutely NO OTHER TEAM IN THE NFL.
Lol, the tag is a place holder while negotiations continue. It keeps him out of free agency. He has a market. Several teams are interested in him and he would likely go to Washington if allowed to hit free agency.

You're spot on, but the worry I have is that this lasts the majority of the summer. The tag eats a considerable amount of cap space until they reach a longer agreement and would effect what they do in free agency the first couple waves.

They are banking on he will sign.

You're absolutely entitled to your opinion, and I hope I'm not coming across as condescending. I just dont understand the thought process. IMO giving Williams a guy like Jordan Davis to get him off the field on run downs just makes his job easier. This is the type of move I would love to see the Cowboys make for once and get a legitimate guy who can spell OSA to keep him fresh. Let him play 600-700 snaps, stay a little fresher, and more of a focus on getting to the QB.
My opinion is subjective just watching him play. But I do agree. He is not "the guy" for me either. I would love Dallas to get a couple of monsters in the middle of the defense. But I don't see that happening.

If Graham falls to them at 12 do you think they will take him? Or will they bypass him for the sexy WR or RB?

To me they should take him, and would be crazy not to. This is the issue with how the Cowboys operate though....they make one move on bringing a guy like OSA back and consider the position fixed. In reality they could get two quality players for the position and have it actually be a strength of the team for once.

I actually applaud the move......It's a one year deal to buy us time. Look @ the alternative. It's better than chaining yourself to a contract in the range of 4 years 100 million....then have the guy start loafing like Diggs......then your stuck w/ a contract w/ 3 years left...and probably 50 to 60 million in dead money.

Think people.....this is the right move. He's gonna have to ball his *** off this year to get the bag.

He's gonna be motivated.....Or we can still trade him. Hell....It's better than letting him walk away for nothing...and getting a 5th round comp pick in 2 years.
Ehh, meh...If Osa shows out, in a scheme tailored for 3Ts then he cost more next season when they could've signed him cheaper now, just like the price went up from this past summer (TC).

It's a good move if they add a 3T in the draft who can take over after 1 year. However, they could get a deal done still and that's what I'd rather happen, but whatever.
