MM knows Lance is worse than Rush and he, Mike, still has hopes to getting things turned around. I feel exactly the same with my FF teams even though deep down I know I'm cooked. Hope springs eternal

only descent ones will go top 5 I'd gather...we sadly will find a way to win a couple more games cause that's what we do. Deion did say he will determine where his guys go though LOL...maybe, just maybe
Shedeur would be the one I'd target if any. People are turned off by his attitude, but he brings it on the field. Has an all business mentality, and has the same work ethic that made his father a hall of fame. He doesn't take BS from others and truthfully, I love that attribute from for the future leader of a team. Could be a sneaky good fit.

Dion‘s son, accurate, intelligent, Mobile, missed one game in his entire career. Healthy.
I just responded to Redsfan about him. Had kind of wrote him off because I didn't think we'd be in range to get him, and because of the circus his dad would bring but I'm really thinking on it right now. Tbh, I think he's a good fit. There are some negatives, but the kid is tough, smart, accurate, athletic, and has a stellar work ethic. I think I'm on board if he's available when we pick.

I'm in the camp that wants to play Lance from here on out! It would not LOOK like tanking because Jerry DID give a 4th round pick for him. We will crash and burn and get a high draft pick. No QBs are worth it next draft though IMO.

There's possibly something to be said for that idea. I'm betting we'll try that for a while before deciding to give Grier a chance to do something reasonably impressive before the season ends. In any event, we're at a crossroads to find help. Here's hoping we'll find some, eventually.

There will be a few teams ahead of us who want him, though. Only chance is if Deion is true to his word and blocks them..

We'll see. I have no confidence in this team or their chances to win another game. Maybe, MAYBE Carolina, but with how they're already imploding a top 3 pick wouldn't surprise me one bit. For reference, we're 1 game up from the #1 pick. Let's see just how bad the worst teams in the NFL really are.

MM darn sure doesn’t want to play him. If Jerry hadn’t extended Dak he’d want Lance out there but now there’s no good outcomes to playing him.

I say play him but Jerry won’t and it’s not like decision. Jerry has made inept decisions all year. Dak extension crumpled the franchise, no off season improvement(nothing new), no moves in FA but really don’t have money people think we do bc it’s being held on to bc of dead money next year, etc. Jerry has no downside of playing him, if he opens up offense and starts to win, we can get a comp for him, if he sucks we know he sucks and no one was going to sign him to anything more than practice squad, if he sucks we likely get higher pick in draft and that’s an advantage as well. What is downside? The naysayers may be wrong and he’s better than we all thought? Just play the guy so we can finally end this debate.lol

At this point he’s in year 4 and likely going to be on his 3rd team in 5 years soon…I don’t think it’s controversial to assume that Lance’s problems start before he even steps on the field. I think it’s likely that he doesn’t grasp an offense like an NFL QB should. Which makes sense given the fact that he barely played football before getting to the NFL.

I see the Cowboys point here. Trey has no value to the organization anymore. He's an UFA at the end of the season, so there is nothing to gain by playing or developing him at this point. That ship sailed.

Think about it. If he plays great, we lose draft position, can't trade him , or afford to re-sign him. So playing him is a lose-lose-lose proposition. There is no upside here.

He knows the system, he might not execute it yet...but he wants to play and he should.

Young, dumb and full of football. Let the boy run free...you may never know what he finds.

I remember when fans were talking about playing Chad Hutchinson because we had to find out what he could be. We found out pretty quickly. When teams are bad, there are always guys we have to play to find out what they can be. It is called desperation.

Having said that, I do think the Cowboys should give some players more playing time to find out what they can be. Lance might be one although I think he has had a lot of time to show what he can be, in SF as well as in Dallas. I think what we see is what we will get. Not much.

But I do think they need to play Ryan Flournoy, and Luke Schoonmaker. I think they need to give Luepke more carries and targets. Heck, I would be okay with activating Tom Thumb Vaughn and giving him some carries and targets to see if there is any chance he adds value. This season is over and what Dallas needs to know is what talent they have. If these guys don't have it, then find out now to make more informed decisions in 2025.

For the same reason I would give Juanyeh Thomas more snaps on defense. I wish I could say the same about Justin Rogers at DT, but they cut him already. The point is, we need to stop dragging dead woods from season to season until they leave when their contracts are up. The job of the GM is to upgrade the talent on the roster every chance he gets. The Cowboys go into downgrade mode too often.

For what in return, some extra endzone markers?
Well that is funny but I was responding to what if they play him and start winning. "If" that happened they might be able to unload him
