Wheels are off. There is no downside to giving Lance an extended audition other than losing, which the 'boys were already doing with the 60M man.
I was referring to Lance's wheels falling off.....just like driving a car till it's of no further use.

The wheels came off the TEAM when they refuse to take part in FA in a meaningful way to address departures and deficiencies

The Cowboys obviously don’t like what they’ve seen with Lance. He had 5 INTs in a preseason game and turnovers have been a huge problem this season. In the limited action he got last week he threw an INT. We all would rather see him play than Rush but McCarthy is battling for his coaching job. If he starts Lance that probably sends a message we’ve given up on the season and players may start laying down. The team may wait until they’re officially eliminated before starting Lance unless Rush continues to crap the bed and they have no choice but to bench him.

Cooper Rush is always going to be a #2 QB at best. If the team around him is good then he is capable of keeping a season on track while the starter is out. I think everyone wants to see what Lance can do but I'm not sure throwing him out on the field against Houston or Washington is setting him up for success. The Giants would be the obvious choice but it's a short week. The next game is 11 days away on a Monday night game against the Bengals who have a below average defense. 5 games left to prove he can play QB.

So what if Jerry plays him and he lights it up(which I honestly don't think he would do)? Is Jerry gonna fork out the money to keep him since he's a free agent and admit he was wrong about Dak? There's no way he can win a bidding war with another team that has cap space and he would have to watch his 4th rounder walk away. Lol, maybe he's refusing to play him in the hope that he can resign his fools gold at a cheap price.

The Cowboys are still trying to win games. They think Rush offers a better chance for that. And they aren't starting their #3 QB over their #2 QB. I wish for one week they would switch.

Apparently not everyone. Too many on here think they know better when they do not.
We need to see, he needs playing time to know for sure.
Pretty sure we seen a lot in preseason.

Now that has basically sat with no reps as QB3 for the last two months you think he is ready to start???

It's sorta comical when you notice the trends of those who make absolute statements (pro or con) about a player & then you look at how wrong they have been in the past.

Then you think, no it's sad because they don't have any self reflection that tells them maybe I need to listen & learn rather than speak.

There is no plan apparently. Starting Lance now seems to make too much sense. Except to Jerry unfortunately. We are in evaluation mode so why not?

Since Lance probably gives us a better chance to win over Rush, screw that. If he actually balls out then we just get a slightly higher comp pick and then Jerry may overpay to keep him as the backup and we have a worse draft pick. The slightly higher comp pick or overpaying a backup is nothing compared to getting a top 5 pick if we can lose out. TEAM TANK!

It is not a matter of he is ready or not. Because that is how all QB’s are. They need to play and start to get in the reps.
We seen nothing in the preseason.

You already predetermined your opinion.

That would piss off a lot of our fans! It would hurt our tank for draft, mentality.
The meltdown would be funny.

And according to the same fans, does the draft matter. They already think Jerry sucks and will blow it anyway.

A very inexperienced QB, with little to no reps, a bad OLine, no running game, receivers who can't get separation is going to result into what exactly???

I am not a fan of Trance, but putting him in this situation will be doing him no favors.

We need to draft one. Problem is this upcoming QB class doesn't look very good.
only descent ones will go top 5 I'd gather...we sadly will find a way to win a couple more games cause that's what we do. Deion did say he will determine where his guys go though LOL...maybe, just maybe

Pretty good article about Tray Lance. He makes a good argument for Lance getting more playing time and even and starting.

This is not your average football team with average play. The Dallas Cowboys are so far below average it is comical, given the preseason hype for this team.

One of the most comical moves this team made was for a player who has not started a game for the Cowboys, but a good value draft pick was sent in return.

The front office and the coaching staff need to take a step back, reevaluate their football decisions, and improve in the future.

It does not matter what the move was or how dumb the move was; the move was made, and now the Dallas Cowboys need to play this man.
