A 2nd year QB struggling against NFL defenses? I am shocked.
This offense is feast or famine, and it's the coach's job to make it easier for your young talent to succeed. They did it in Philly, they've done it in LA. We trot out basically the same Coryell formations and patterns and when defenses key in on Daks inexperience, we just force it even more.
It's 2018. You've got to have a little more creativity now, NFL defenses are too good. Brady and even Rodgers are two HoFers, but their offenses still throw out a lot of creative formations and routes. Two of the best arms in the game, and they know they can't just rely on that.
Look at what happened to Matty Ice with a simple coaching change.
There's too many good OL with feet on this team, a RB who can change games, two shifty guys at wideout, Dez who could be a YAC monster.
If we want to have a chance every week, we have to actually get creative. If we don't, we're just not ever going to be consistent.
And yes, defense still needs work.
