That's not the issue - you claimed no one else offered him a spot on the practice squad which cannot be proven.

We only know that no one put him on their 53-man roster.

So there's an issue, lol?

....and it's pure speculation to assume that he was offered to be placed on another team's practice squad, only to turn it down in preference to come back to the Cowboys.

Yes or no?

Do you have any reports to base this off of? It's not unheard of to happen, but it's typically reported on by the press regarding the offer(s) and the player's desire to remain with his original team.

So what of your claim that it's "fairly uncommon" for another team to claim a player from a different team to put on its own practice squad. BTW, add Jeremy Parnell to that list too.

I never speculated whether any other team offered him a space on their PS.

I only said it cannot be proven that no one did. You perviously asserted that since he signed onto our PS that no other team had offered him a spot on their PS. That was pure speculation and is still pure speculation.

Lol, okay, if you find solace or comfort in that unprovable gray area, that's great.

If I'm going to speculate and err in this case, it will be for lack of evidence to support your contention. First, we do obviously know that wasn't signed by anyone else. Two, we haven't heard any report, by his agent or the Cowboys' organization itself that AOA refused an offer(s) from another team to remain with the Cowboys.

I love how people speculate things and then argue with others as if they were providing facts.

Fact: AOA is on the practice squad, not good enough for the 53 but good enough for the practice squad.

If I had to take a wild guess on AOA I would say that I think that his injury screwed him last year and now with the scheme change and the lockout he once again got screwed. For a guy that was projected to be a project anyways these things will set him back.

Fact: hypocrite (you).

Why?

"wild guess" = speculate.

You wild guessing...("If I had to take a wild guess on AOA I would say that I think his injury screwed him...")

Irony...("I love how people speculate things and then argue with others as if they were providing facts.")

saturday on the ticket David Moore said keeping the second kicker cost AOA his job. And that AOA was the first player the team would offer a PS position to. I dont know if thats so or not. But I bet Hostile, Joe or SDogo with their connections could find out.

Andre Holmes 40 at the combine: The Video notes indicate that he ran a 4.45 40 at his pro day.

Do you see how others qualified their remarks.

You didn't - you stated that AOA was not offered a spot by any other team on their PS as a fact. A fact that you cannot prove. That is what the difference is between everyone else's comments and yours.

I don't know and neither do you.

Only him and his agent know the answer to that question along with any team that did offer him a spot on the PS.

Do you have some sort of a vendetta against this kid? He really hasn't done anything bad that I know about and he is a very good raw athlete. I don't know if he has the instincts for safety or the hips to play CB. The Cowboys signed up for a project player and drafted him two rounds too early, IMO. He lost all the practice reps last year because of injury and lost all this offseason due to the lockout. He might yet develop and the FO at least thinks enough of him to put him on the PS.

My own hunch is that he finishes the season on some team's active roster because someone will want to store him to give him one last shot next year.

I suspect he has stuck around here because of how thin our secondary is - with Josh Thomas gone he has a decent chance of getting promoted to our active roster at some point this year.

My own hunch is that he also will not amount to anything - he is a tweener - not quite a safety and not quite a cornerback but he will tease everyone with his athleticism.

Moore did say that, but from what i heard sources, teddy williams was one of first players told that cowboys would try to sign him through practice squad once cleared waivers.

Best I remember, teddy williams was first player cowboys resigned to practice squad but dont quote me on that, maybe Hos or Sdogo has more info then what i have.

I have no vendetta or agenda against the kid at all. In fact, I was hoping he would show something if for no other reason than I hate to see another draft pick go down the drain.

My analysis of him isn't that much different from yours, other than I think he was drafted right about where he was projected to go.

I dont think anyone picked him up. Best I know of, we have 7 players on practice squad,, even though dallascowboys.com main website only has 6 players listed. You can keep up to 8 players now on practice squad. Someone mentioned that the cowboys might pick up sam young and move him to practice squad if no one picks him up.

I'm not arguing that he wasn't drafted where he was expected to go pre-draft. I'm just arguing that he was a big project being a division-2 player and not having a clear pro position to play other than kick returner where he is only marginal at the NFL level.

I'm fairly pleased with this practice squad. I was hopeful AOA, Chapas, Butler and Lemon would make it.

Give these guys another year of development and time in the conditioning program and one or two might turn into a contributor.

Was hoping we'd get Thomas, too, but them's the breaks.
