Yep, always transitioning from one thing to the next and its slow going. Are we a 3-4, a 4-3, what kind of DT's do we want? Are we are run first team, are we a pass first team?

Its pretty obvious to me that this team is now a pass first, high octane offense. However, Jerry is still trying hold onto pounding Zeke up the middle and acting like he is our best weapon. And its hurt the offense especially early in games and has resulted in some slow starts. And when your defense is as bad as ours is, that is a bad recipe.

Jerry is confused. He wants to be a high octane passing O, but the team loses when we go to that. Then we start running the ball and start winning. And for the life of him, he cannot figure out why that is.

I’m gonna be honest.

I think a big reason for this. Aside from the Jones’ incompetence. Is because of a mediocre head coach like garret.

I’m hoping McCarthy establishes a better team and identity.

but I want to give him more time than one season before I say he fails at it.

If you are insinuating that the team is losing because the passing game is balling out, I completely disagree. The defense is the worst its been since I can remember both last year and the year before. The huge passing numbers are a result of the defense, not the other way around.

Back in 2014 when we suddenly starting running the ball prolifically and start winning, it took Jerry completely by surprise. And he still didn't connect that to winning, as evidenced by him letting the load carrying RB walk and not even trying to replace him.

There is not a more clueless person who has anything to do w/ personnel in the NFL.

To me it's simple, you draft the best players available and build them into a system. But you must make sure they are intelligent players that are flexible and can play different roles so that when you need to show a different look they can adapt.

That's what the best teams do. Our identity should be one of unpredictability based around quality players

Last year was a great draft. And to fill some of these issues. As it was not just to get starters for this year, it was to get eventual starters and depth over the next few years. String together a few drafts, and then all of a sudden they make that jump. Like from 89 to 90, 90 to 91, then 91 to 92 and a SB.

Who has NO CLUE are the many whiners on here.

A team of identity is defined beforehand by the GM who hires the HC and picks the players to fill it or he allows the HC to define the identity.

This GM has allowed the HC to define it twice, once when he bought it and once when he needed to get the stadium deal.

The Joneses do not have a plan, they develop it after each season ends and it is dependent on that season.

When you have an owner / GM whos only desire is to stay 'relevant' and/or 'interesting', that's where the inconsistencies begin. Jerry doesn't build his teams based on needs or a desire to win championships, he throw darts all over the place with hopes that where ever they land will be a top jersey seller.

Cowboys need a Kyle Shannahan style of offense with the players we have.

On defense you just want something that makes offenses work for what they get because the rules don't allow you to play real defense anymore. You just do the best you can and hope the opposing offense screws it up somehow.
