My guess is that one or more of the RBs that went from 71 to 88 would have been a target at #90.
- I know they really liked Miller.

Probably character and/or medical...

From Brugler:
  • The character and medical vetting process will be imperative …
  • he was suspended twice as a senior in high school for “violating team rules” and missed three games, including the 2019 state championship game …
  • battled several injuries the past two seasons: missed six of the final seven games as a sophomore with a turf toe injury (October 2021);
  • missed one game as a junior with a hip injury (September 2022);
  • knocked out of the Alabama game with a concussion (November 2022);
  • sidelined for the NFL Scouting Combine with a left hamstring injury (March 2023).

The 2 RB's in the 4th round at 129 would have been better than the project DL guy.
More than 40 scouts were on hand for SJSU’s Pro Day, quite likely a record for the Mountain West program. And most were on hand to see defensive lineman Viliami Fehoko, who did not disappoint. Fehoko tipped the scales at 282 pounds, six more than his weight at the Combine.

Spears or Miller over Schoonmaker.

Pitt kid over Fehoko.

Evans over Vaughn.

The turf toe injury was skeptical as hell here in TCU land, it always felt like he was opting out of games once the Frogs didnt look great and pretty much told people around campus he wanted to transfer during the season.

I was hoping for Rodriguez or Isreal. You'd think we'd have gone at least that route as a set up for 2024 without Pollard.

Maybe they fell in love with Deuce and figured he'd be Pollards replacement and they'd draft a larger back next draft. I dunno..

Guessing none of the RBs they liked fell. Deep RB class but they all got scooped up pretty quick because it's supposed to be a weaker draft class overall. Maybe find a 1 year FA/trade filler for a SB run and then try again for a longer term fix next draft.

Seems like the team has a big need at RB, and I was surprised they didn't really go after one in the draft. (a late 6th doesn't really move the needle much) If Pollard is not on the field, there is a steep drop off. I expected they would take a RB higher that had starting potential. RB is a weakness in the roster.

I would've been tempted to take one of the RBs in the 4th, but Vaughn was way better value.

Fine with not taking any of them, based on where they went.
