Cowboys re-sign Danny McCray

Young player, special teams performer, cheap, backup who got some experience in the starting role last season. I see no problem with this move.

You guys will cry about anything.

Lol at least Bryan McCann made a couple plays for us

I was a fan of McCann off the field. His 100 yd pick six was awesome though.

Special teams is valuable, I don't see why you hate this guy so much. You are laughing at him like you expect him to be a starting safety, which is something that he is not. Every team needs a player like McCray.

right. any old UDFAs can lead the team in ST tackles in multiple years and are voted as ST captain

Yeah.

Special teams tackles? Wow. Break out the checkbook.

And how exactly did we acquire this mediocre player whose praises you like to sing?

Oh yeah.

UDFA.

We're done here.

Where do you work where $1.3 million is 'cheap'?

This team can't sign a starting right tackle worlds better than what they have for $3 million but can pay this guy $1.3 million to suck at safety?

The 'mystery of mediocricty' is now solved.

We didn't give up anything to sign him and he has value as a ST player. I don't see what to get upset about.

Would you please keep up!

The guy is not even a pro bowler!! And 1.3 million for a guy that only plays special teams?

The 'mystery of mediocricty' is now solved. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Right. Because you can just grab any UDFA and have that sort of result.

Basic critical thinking skills are so lacking on this board

But, but, but...he cost 1.3 million!

Really? Who might this mystery tackle be?

McCray is the captain of special teams and his massive salary of $1.3 mil is not affecting anything; even signing this mystery right tackle.

Is that money is guaranteed? No, no it is not.

Is he worth that if another player cannot take his job? Yes, yes he is.

I don't disagree...he is valuable on special teams and if the new special teams coach agrees to sign him, then that tells me something.

I was just laughing at the poster that cries..."Oh noez...1.3 million...the Cowboys must file for bankruptcy!

:laugh2:

Like I said. Poor critical thinking skills.

Is this question for real?

When a team can't or won't (you can decide - whichever helps you to feel better or helps you to try to justify it) pay to improve at right tackle while paying a special teams tackler $1.3 million, it's a pretty sad situation.

Funny how you talk about 'thinking skills' when you're showing the lack thereof.

Yeah, they can, because they did!

And they have over and over and over again!

Bill Bates - the Cowboys greatest special teamer ever - went undrafted when they had 12 rounds!!

Kenny Gant was another one -drafted in a 9th round that no longer exists!

This guy is a special teamer only (and just a tackler at that!) and a complete liability if asked to do anything else.

Hardly worth $1.3 million.
Good point. Guys like him are a dime a dozen, but then Dallas gives him 1.3 million.

All while they can't improve the areas of the team that really need it....

But you keep rooting for those 8-8 seasons!

Dude, that 1.3 mil is not going to affect any major signing this team can't do at the moment.

The question was real. Is that answer for real?

Eric Winston - light years better than Doug Free - wants $3-$4 million per season.

Apparently 'too rich' for a team willing to pay this guy $1.3 million.

Geniuses at work.

When they're making moves like this, they forfeit their right to wonder why they keep going .500 or worse.
