Cowboys red zone issues - they're just bad

Well when the wr's aren't getting any separation and you can't run the ball what can you expect, especially in the redzone when you have even less space to work with? Better play call and scheming would yield better results. You have to wonder how do we prepare for teams? It seems like we are lost on both offense and defense.
Yeah this is exactly correct. WRs can't get open, they hardly get seperation between the 20s. You put it down to the red zone and there is less space.

Compund that with a poor running game and no pre snap motion, and its pretty obvious why this is happening.

It goes hand in hand. Good line play means good RB play and good QB play typically. Are you just interested in arguing about Dak? I think we get it you think he sucks lol.:
It has nothing to do with “thinking he sucks”, he does suck…he’s awful!

The #Cowboys season would feel much better if the red zone issues weren’t such an issue.

• Per NFL Pro, Dak Prescott has completed just 39.1% of his pass attempts in the red zone this season, the 4th-lowest in the NFL.

• The offense has scored a touchdown on just 37.5% of their red zone trips (31st), only better than the Miami Dolphins per @pfref

• The offense has had just 16 attempts in the red zone (29th). It’s also the lowest in the NFC East; yes, the Giants have more with 19.

Fix those, and the team could be in line for, at the very least, a more competitive season.

I have been saying this since week 2....

when you can't run (dead last and 114 yards behind 31st place team in just 6 games)....then you are going to struggle in the redzone....
in the redzone, passing lanes are tighter and tougher to come by, then no running game and team drop 7 into coverage in a tight area.
so it makes redzone offense one dimentional in the wrong way.

it all starts with the running game, which we have none.

These are the effects of not having a line or run game. It kills you.
Exactly, I'm not giving Dak a pass on forcing throws, but when your defense is garbage and you know you need points, but you have no run game, the redzone is much easier for any defense. No one respects our OL or RBs down there, and there's very little threat of any RB making a big play in the passing game because they aren't quick or fast or powerful and cannot make defenders miss. Our receivers cannot separate anywhere on the field, and that is magnified in the redzone. The coach cannot scheme someone open on every play. Players have to be able to make plays. In our case, the QB has to elude the rush and make tight window throws in the redzone. It's a recipe for failure.

They need to run the ball. The closer you are to the goal line, the harder it is to pass the ball.

With seven games in, six teams so far have run for 1,000 yards or more. One of them has done it in six games.

5-2 Ravens: 1,476 yards
5-2 Commies: 1,158 yards
5-2 Packers: 1,085 yards
3-4 Cardinals: 1,052 yards
3-4 49ers: 1,049 yards
4-2 Eagles (six games): 1,000 yards

O-line rankings are as of today per NFL/PFF rankings

Ravens: #11 O-line, running/mobile QB, stud RB, legit #1 receiver
Commies: #9 O-line, running/mobile QB, pass catching RB's
Packers: #4 O-line, running/mobile QB, legit #1 receiver
Arizona: #23 O-line, running/mobile QB, hit or miss RB/WR combo
49ers: #12 O-line, statute at QB, when healthy excellent RB/WR combo.
Eagles: #5 O-line despite Johnson and Mailata missing time, running/mobile QB, stud RB, legit #1/#2 combo at WR, all somewhat mitigated by the dumbest HC in the league.

The only anomaly on this list is Arizona. 49ers would have a winning record if healthy, I don't think anyone would dispute that.

Now, our Boys...#18 O-line, semi-mobile QB, below average RB's, legit #1 WR with JAG's bringing up the rear. We have a climb ahead of us, especially since two of those teams are ahead of us in the NFCE.
Henry & Barkley were both available

Not all coaches are dumb! Lol
This will affect the outcome of this game:

Terence Steele vs. Nick Bosa - No surprise here. These two have seen each other before and it hasn't necessarily been successful for Dallas. Last season, Terence Steele tallied the lowest pass blocking grade of his career with an 8.4 against Nick Bosa and San Francisco, according to Pro Football Focus. In that game, he allowed a sack, eight pressures and won only 85 percent of his reps. With the offensive line trying to find their stride after the Bye Week, the Cowboys need Steele to stand strong against Bosa and company to have some success.

You can't be great at everything.
This season, the Dallas Cowboys have not seen a touchdown catch from any of their tight ends, including Jake Ferguson, who was expected to carry a significant role in the offense this season. It'll be a tough task for him to get involved this week against Fred Warner, who has made the middle of the field a "no fly" zone for years. Since drafting Warner in 2018, the 49ers have allowed 11 fewer receptions (98) on passes over the intermediate middle of the field (10-19 air yards) than any other defense. That's where Ferguson's presence will be needed most.
