We sure are thin on the DL, would have like to have seen us sign Sedrick Ellis, but he went to the Bears, Maybe Idjane or Oboyi now?

Ware, Hatcher, Ratliff, Spencer are the starters and are locks to make the roster.

Lissemore, Crawford, Wilber, and now it seems Bass are the favorites to make up the second unit.

I wonder how many DL they keep. If they divide offense and defense equally, they have 25 spots. 10 will be in the secondary, most likely. Would they only carry 6 lbers? Or a 7th who can provide some DE flexibility in passing situations?

Team has been saying all offseason that they like their DL depth. Nobody has to agree. But cutting Price for injury reasons and replacing him with Hargrove, who is then cut for injury reasons--especially after a strong showing from the bottom-roster guys in OTAs--is hardly the end of the world. At most, we've got one bottom of the roster DL spot open with cap room and veteran candidates available to fill it if we want to fill it. Certainly nothing to dog the team about some more.

As Fish explained it on theFan, Ben Bass is the 8th DL on the depth chart and with Hargrove not bouncing back from the layoff he wasn't close to beating out Bass.
