Rosters should expand especially with the addition of one more game. They should also expand the number of eligible active players available each week of the season.

Frankly I feel is 53 men made the team then 53 men should be eligible on game day. I have never like the notion that a player who is a member of the team can only play if he is part of the 48 game day roster. Either you are part of the team or not, every member should be dressed on game day. Outside of PS

No, he was under contract until they cut him, so he couldn't have signed anywhere else. Of course he could have signed weeks or months ago before he signed with Dallas but that is irrelevant.

It’s not like they just cut him and didn’t talk to him about it
This is very common to cut players who aren’t subject to waivers then sign them back

The whole reason behind it is illogical to me
The idea is if a team has players injured they would have less players available but teams can add players anytime and having a top tier player out hurts competiveness much more than one team having 51 available and the other 53 would

How sad it is that we know we can cut our players and NO OTHER NFL team wants them that we can sign them back with no issues. Says a lot huh. Was any player cut or waived by the boys picked up by anyone else, I saw where Carter might go to a PS but anyone else ?

i don't get all the musical circus with cutting your 53 man roster players. ..if you know he's' your punter ....if you know he's your long snapper, ..who's next the FG kicker ?

Silently hoping against hope (it won't happen) that Anger signs somewhere else and the Cowboys are stuck without a punter, so Garrett McCarthy has to go for it on 4th down much more often.

A lot of guys new to roster management on this thread lol. People are really confused by these things but instead of asking questions they just get mad about randomness. Pretty entertaining though.

What's sad is that NFL rules make moves like this necessary. Why in the heck cant a team just set their roster, practice squad, IR, and any other list without having to jump through hoops. If you are going to let them take 90 to camp, then let them keep the top 65 however they want to arrange it without exposing them to other teams. The only exception I would make is that practice squad players could still say no and go somewhere else.

It’s really pretty silly. Of course they are trying to promote parity.
