The point is Houston was waived just like Ridgeway the same week. If they waived Houston first then he would be on the practice squad where he is now and they could still have Ridgeway, a 5th round pick who is missed by Dan Quinn.

Then, they would have waived Ridgeway for whatever roster move they're going to make with Houston's spot ... and Washington would have claimed him.
