They miss badly on both 3 and 1 T dee tackles going back a while now.

Not sure if McClays dee tackle scouts or Quinns input or both is the main reason for the poor choices but I hope one day soon it's figured out.

They might try choosing a higher graded round guy too.
I mean Hill was a miss but he was a 2nd rd pick so they ain't scared to at least use a second on the position.

But overall, I still feel they(Jerry and Stephen) just don't value/prioritize dee tackles properly towards team success.

They finally managed to overcome their inability to get safeties so I guess it's just now become the baby steps approach to progress being made.
Like I said, sooner I hope than later but I doubt it.

I expected big things from Gallimore. So far he has not done much. He seems to have the tools so it’s not outside the realm of possibility that the light finally clicks on for him, just in time for his contract year.

Cowboys suck at trading and getting anything of value back so might as well see if he can have a contract year then let him walk for a low comp pick. If they really need the spot or funds to sign hanins or someone better then hell yea do it in a heart beat.

Wow. This is surprising. I thought DTs playing on roller skates was a bad thing????

I don't think it means any more than Gallimore is a third-rounder in his third season. He's under contract and there's no reason to cut him right now. He could potentially hit his stride or be a camp cutdown. It's not like anyone said they see him as a starter or stud. The ascending player comment might be hyperbole, but no one is going to say he's a descending player but we're keeping him or that he's perfect the way that he is. The only thing they can sell him on is "high hopes."

Gallimore is too soft mentally. He's not the mean, angry beast thats required to play the position. I want 330-350lb junkyard dogs at DT
I think he's a strong player who doesn't know how to use his strength. It amazes me how many big strong men can't understand what it takes to play football. Players like him and Hill have the athletic ability but not the acumen for the game.

Dallas seems to need to learn regarding the defensive line to draft football players over physical specimens. A quick first step doesn't matter if you don't know what to do with it. Power can be negated by those who understand leverage and how to use that power against a player who doesn't understand how to use it.

Ideally, you want physical specimens who also understand how to play the game, but usually where we draft DL, you get one or the other.

Where's the praise for Dan Quinn? Suddenly disappeared, huh? Now we see some of his bad decisions. Should have traded Neville Gallimore and kept John Ridgeway.

As much as I want to continue to hype Gallimore, it's becoming significantly harder to do. Each individual in the current DT group had every opportunity to thrive in a poor group overall yet Gallimore struggled to even stay active on gamedays. Maybe there is more to that story than I know, but it's a pretty bad sign overall. The guy is a decent interior pass rusher, but hasn't improved an ounce when it comes to playing the run.

I'm thinking it's time I admit I swung and missed on this one.
Me too.
Loved the pick. Probably more suited for Marinelli as a fast twitch straight ahead 1tech, but even given the scheme change, he's been a massive disappointment.
I was just wrong about him.
Another player with the Cowboys whose best year was his rookie year.
