It's smart to watch a former big time player at your position for your new team, but I hope Schoon mixed some Kelce, Kittle...some other WCO TEs.

For sure, but I think part of it is Witts all around game. That is the FO goal with him. They want to rely on him in any situation.

I believe Schoon can improve his route running by watching Witt and get a lot better.

Gehlken on 105.3 said that the Cowboys think he will be an impact player right away. NFL teams around the league hold him in higher regard than media did and believe he's a quality balanced football player.

Great interview. Really enjoyed it. My main takeaway is his positive comments about Schoon and how he is thought of around the league.

It's a different era. Go watch Kelce, Kittle, or Gronk. We need you to move the chains not run a route that's 2 yards shirt of a first.

Any high school or college athlete that aspires to be a TE in the NFL would have to know who Jason Witten is. It would be nothing more than common sense for such a person to want to study Jason closely.

Jason Witten was not a blue chip, naturally gifted athlete. He became one of the best TE's in history as a result of hard work, dedication, and a commitment to perfecting his play. He was the master technician.

At the very least, Schoonmaker knows what to say in order to endear himself to Cowboy fans.

I believe he wants to be a great TE for the Cowboys. However, I'm, not convinced he's just going to walk in and take over the position. He's going to have to fight to earn his percentage of play time. The designated starter, the one that receives the most opportunity, could be any of the three young players. It will be fun to watch.
