Cowboys run game was most efficient last season

Imagine if they hadn't added a generational talent in last years draft .....

(I know their Oline has issues but the 6th pick didn't look the part either. Just to remind those that blathered on & on about how he was a slam dunk savior)
Jeanty was really good. Maybe fantasy owners wanted more yards but Emmitt would have struggled in Vegas.

Raiders had the nfls worst block win rate but Jeanty was 7th in the league in yards after contact

He still ended up with 1300 total yards from scrimmage and 10 TD. Their line and receivers were so bad that he was also one of their top receiving as Geno couldn’t wait for anything downfield

If he had played behind a good or even decent line he would have likely gotten 1200 on the ground without too much trouble

We saw some different things. He did not show me anything resembling a top talent. Granted, I probably only kept an eye on him til maybe mid season so perhaps he got better as the season progressed. Perhaps he becomes the player people said he was. From what I hear Mike Washington Jr. is pushing him though.

For sure, the line needs to be better.

Holy cow, Raiders

Rushing Yards: 1,317 (32nd)
Yards Per Carry: 3.6 (32nd)
Rushing Touchdowns: 5 (32nd)
Rushing First Downs: 67 (32nd)
I watched a lot of Jeanty last season.....Poor kid got hit in the backfield so much...It was like the other team was in his huddle.

If I could make one move to get us over the top.....I'd go get that kid out of purgatory. He would be the difference maker like Tony Dorsett was in the 1977 season.

Wasn't very much running outside the tackles. All up the gut where we have have one of the best trios in the league.
That is just the Cowboys playing smart. The 2025 run game was not simply an outside-zone/edge-running offense. JWill's profile suggests Dallas got a lot of value from runs between the tackles and inside/outside-gap concepts where he could press the hole and then make the cut. Something he did all season with success.
