Is it just me, or does it seem like we always play 90%+ of our non-divisional games against the best teams (AFC & NFC) on the road? Also feels like we draw the two (2) toughest teams of our selected AFC conference on the road as well. Ever since The Goon became dictator, we seem to always draw teams like KC, New England, Green Bay, San Francisco, Seattle on the road. I know that I'm not imagining this.

It's a formula. No conspiracy here.

And we have an easy schedule this year compared to the Eagles.

Scheduling is mostly done using linear programs optimizing for a variety of factors and constraints (conference matchups, travel distance, short weeks, unique games like Dallas always on Thanksgiving, etc). I am sure some manual manipulation goes on in order to ensure certain matchups happen, but by and large this is a technology driven process. Dallas has been one of the better teams in the league over the last decade, so it generally makes sense that they tend to draw a more difficult schedule (1st and 2nd place schedules).

Eagles played all their tough opponents at home last year, and most at home this year. So I get what you're saying and have noticed the same thing.

I know how 16 games are scheduled and the home/away aspect.

But how is the extra 17th game decided for each team? I believe it's a non conference game and alternates home vs away each away but how is the actual team decided?

The truth lies with Kim Novak calling forth the spirits of the Ur- Rooney and Mara to reveal the course of the NFL.

As is often the case in these communication, the presence of Miss Novak has played havoc with scribes writing down what Rooney and Mara say in a difficult version English.

Way I see, 2 years ago we play afc west, we play same seed of division. So last year chargers and cowboys both seed 2

3 year ago we play afc North, we play Bengals last year....

So we will play afc south same seed next year.

So 2 year after the afc division we will play the similar seed.

As home, they alt conference. This year afc host the 17th. Next year nfc host the game

It is on a rotational basis, just like the interconfernce division versus division (AFC V. NFC). But the team matchups is based on the team finish in their own division the previous season.
For example, this season the one interconference game matchup for the NFC East is the AFC West.
2022 1st place Chiefs play 2022 1st place Eagles
2022 2nd place Cowboys play 2022 2nd place Chargers
2022 3rd place Giants play 2022 3rd place Raiders
2022 4th place Commanders play 2022 4th place Broncos
Those four games in 2023 will be home games for the AFC teams.
