Cowboys schedule conspiracy

It's a formula. No conspiracy here.

And we have an easy schedule this year compared to the Eagles.
How is it easier? Our only opponents not in common are Philly plays Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Kansas City. Cowboys play Detroit, Carolina, and LA Chargers. Philly doesn’t have it much tougher, if at all. Of the common opponents the toughest are San Francisco, Miami, and Buffalo. Dallas has all three on the road, Philadelphia gets all three at home. The other two games not in common, obviously, are the games against Philly. Add to that two of Philly’s away games, New England (already a win) and the New York Jets are away games where the Eagles players are home in time for supper with the the family. And that Jets game is in a stadium, 96 miles from their training facility, and one they play in every year. Before you say so what, it is an advantage to the Eagles. They have never lost a game to the New York Jets. Ever. The Cowboys have the tougher schedule. Neither team has a schedule where “easy” comes into the conversation. Have you looked the either team’s schedule?

If you are regarded as a Super Bowl team you shouldn’t care where you play, and who you play in your schedule.

Is it just me, or does it seem like we always play 90%+ of our non-divisional games against the best teams (AFC & NFC) on the road? Also feels like we draw the two (2) toughest teams of our selected AFC conference on the road as well. Ever since The Goon became dictator, we seem to always draw teams like KC, New England, Green Bay, San Francisco, Seattle on the road. I know that I'm not imagining this.
I hate to tell you, but the league would be very pleased if the Cowboys won it all this year.

Well when we play the Charger in Los Angeles it will be like an extra home game. The Giants game seemed to be 50/50.

I am not worried about the schedule, everyone has tough parts in their schedule. I am more concerned with referee bias or inconsistency in their calling or not calling penalties based on who commits them or when they commit them. This has a more direct effect on outcomes of games.

Just to be clear, I'm not implying a conspiracy. I'm implying luck. The Eagles schedule has been heavily weighted for them to play their toughest teams at home at least the last 2 years. It is what it is, and the Eagles are very fortunate.

Its you. All but 3 games per-season are already locked in for seasons to come.

There is only one systematic competitive advantage the NFL supports every year, and it's in the name of tradition....and WE benefit from it....as well as Detroit.

Once a year, on Thanksgiving....some team has to travel to Dallas and Detroit on a short week after playing the Sunday before. That's a competitive advantage...not A HUGE one...but an advantage nonetheless. The records in the Thursday games are meaningless.....as long as the game is ALWAYS at home for those 2 teams, they get a yearly approved competitive advantage, that many owners have lobbied to do away with, but are denied.

So Detroit or Dallas fans probably shouldn't go whining about conspiracy krap like this

Oh, yes, I saw that episode of “Ancient Aliens”, too. It was a good one.

Home games are nice, but a short week, guaranteed every year, is not an “advantage”. “some team” is not the same team every year. The Lions and Cowboys…it’s every year. Look harder, Simba.

Eagles played all their tough opponents at home last year, and most at home this year. So I get what you're saying and have noticed the same thing.
Thank you...it just can't be based all on formula when we CONTINUALLY get all the best non divisional teams on the road....and yes, I do understand the formula thingy.

NFL schedules follow a formula. It’s as fair as possible.

Besides, in Sept none of us know which teams will be surprisingly good or surprisingly bad by the time we play them. All NFL teams are capable of beating any other team on a given week. Frankly, I would prefer a difficult schedule. If you can beat tough teams in Reg season, you’re ready for the playoffs. Bring it!

Do you know how many NFL owners, backed by their entire staff of carrer football men and GMs (usually lawyers or financial experts) argue its an advantage? Just think about it.

Yes they have a short week every year, but it's ALWAYS at home....meaning every year, one of their games is against a team ALSO on a short week, on a HOLIDAY...that has to travel to TX. Whoever is playing the Lions or Cowboys that week, is at a disadvantage. And then the Lions and Cowboys get a "mini bye week" after that game, every year. Everyone knows this. If you disagree...defer to the people who own/run multi billion dollar businesses with dozens of the most educated people supporting them.

It's like....if you feel something wring with ur heart...don't hop on YouToob and diagnose yourself....go to an expert who knows better than you.

If you can't understand the simple logic of why this is a yearly advantage for these two teams....then just listen to people who know better than you. It's pretty easy to even look up, as long as you avoid Dallas and Detroit sites.

Every year. Cowboys and Conspiracy always show up. It shouldn't matter who we play or where we play. Winners win. It's really that simple.

Its definitely math they use to set the schedule up. One thing I always wondered was why we played the giants so often, why we almost always have multiple road games to finish the season, and one season why we played 3 games in 12 days with travel to England lol. It is what it is though.

Yes, you are right. I saw an interview with Goodell where he said every year his number 1 goal when making the schedule is to make sure that he screws the Cowboys. He then went on to talk about being the second shooter in the grassy knoll...
