Cowboys schedule conspiracy

I live in Wisconsin. The OP sounds like Packer fans from the 90's. All they complained about was always playing the Cowboys at Texas Stadium. Saying the NFL was rigged helping the Cowboys on that drastically curved/ sloped field.

There is no conspiracy theory. Obviously many have already mentioned why.

It's hard to say how hard a schedule is this early, but I never like the division games all lumped together at the end.

Scheduling is mostly done using linear programs optimizing for a variety of factors and constraints (conference matchups, travel distance, short weeks, unique games like Dallas always on Thanksgiving, etc). I am sure some manual manipulation goes on in order to ensure certain matchups happen, but by and large this is a technology driven process. Dallas has been one of the better teams in the league over the last decade, so it generally makes sense that they tend to draw a more difficult schedule (1st and 2nd place schedules).
Your first sentence is right, but that's about when they play teams on their schedule. Who and where they play is determined by a formula with no "manual manipulation" at all. And yes, 3 games are determined by the previous year's standings, so 1st and 2nd place finishes will likely lead to a more difficult schedule on average.

Is it just me, or does it seem like we always play 90%+ of our non-divisional games against the best teams (AFC & NFC) on the road? Also feels like we draw the two (2) toughest teams of our selected AFC conference on the road as well. Ever since The Goon became dictator, we seem to always draw teams like KC, New England, Green Bay, San Francisco, Seattle on the road. I know that I'm not imagining this.
I hope we face a difficult schedule. This team needs to be sharp for the playoffs.

We do, as does Philly, part of the price we pay for one and doning in the playoffs so often.

Na, it’s always been like that.

And apparently Cowboys prefer playing the easier games at home :)

How is it easier? Our only opponents not in common are Philly plays Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and Kansas City. Cowboys play Detroit, Carolina, and LA Chargers. Philly doesn’t have it much tougher, if at all. Of the common opponents the toughest are San Francisco, Miami, and Buffalo. Dallas has all three on the road, Philadelphia gets all three at home. The other two games not in common, obviously, are the games against Philly. Add to that two of Philly’s away games, New England (already a win) and the New York Jets are away games where the Eagles players are home in time for supper with the the family. And that Jets game is in a stadium, 96 miles from their training facility, and one they play in every year. Before you say so what, it is an advantage to the Eagles. They have never lost a game to the New York Jets. Ever. The Cowboys have the tougher schedule. Neither team has a schedule where “easy” comes into the conversation. Have you looked the either team’s schedule?
Told y'all I was correct!!!

It is on a rotational basis, just like the interconfernce division versus division (AFC V. NFC). But the team matchups is based on the team finish in their own division the previous season.
For example, this season the one interconference game matchup for the NFC East is the AFC West.
2022 1st place Chiefs play 2022 1st place Eagles
2022 2nd place Cowboys play 2022 2nd place Chargers
2022 3rd place Giants play 2022 3rd place Raiders
2022 4th place Commanders play 2022 4th place Broncos
Those four games in 2023 will be home games for the AFC teams.
Yes, but why is it that Dallas travels to San Fran instead of San Fran coming to Dallas or Buffalo to Dallas?

Good question . No rhyme or reason other than scheduling issues .

The league having to divide up our two divisions in AFC and NFC respectively out of our own division has to provide us 2 home and away games . In doing so they have to work around everyone else’s schedule for home and away games including other events at those stadiums along with scheduling everyone a Thursday night game , a maximum of 3 Sunday night games and I believe everyone has to play at least one Monday night now which didn’t used to be a mandate. Not to mention our International games now.

There’s no balance in place saying every four years as we rotate playing divisions that we must alternate home and away based on where we played last time .

Here’s a link describing it in detail:

While I don't believe there is any overall conspiracy to screw the Cowboys schedule-wise no one will convince me that having to play on the road the Sunday before the Thanksgiving game followed by back to back Thursday games is not a deliberate screw job. We know this because the other teams around the league DEMANDED it. They thought the Cowboys playing at home the Sunday before then at home on Thanksgiving followed by the 10 days off gave them "an unfair advantage." So the league has made the Cowboys play on the road almost every year the Sunday before Thanksgiving and has even gone so far as to make it the damn Sunday night game a time or two. THAT part isn't some conspiracy.. that is an outright no vaseline bend over..

It’s just you. The schedule is pre-determined by an algo.

It’s a real thing. The league “bones” the Cowboys as often as possible. Much like the Cowboys violating a rule that wasn’t on the books in an uncapped year.

The internet “tough guys” will tell you that anti-Cowboys bias is not real but anyone with half a brain and pays attention should know that it exists.

Tiger Woods can’t beat me on his best day, if I am the one keeping score. The deniers can put that in their pipe and smoke it. Lol.

Since NFL schedules are scheduled around their stadiums other events it’s entirely possible that we can blame our owner for much of what appears to be at times imbalances in the scheduling. AT&T stadium is one of the busiest venues in the NFL.

The last time we played both those teams in the regular season it was in Dallas. So the next time we play them it’s on the road. Logic is a good thing

There is only one systematic competitive advantage the NFL supports every year, and it's in the name of tradition....and WE benefit from it....as well as Detroit.

Once a year, on Thanksgiving....some team has to travel to Dallas and Detroit on a short week after playing the Sunday before. That's a competitive advantage...not A HUGE one...but an advantage nonetheless. The records in the Thursday games are meaningless.....as long as the game is ALWAYS at home for those 2 teams, they get a yearly approved competitive advantage, that many owners have lobbied to do away with, but are denied.

So Detroit or Dallas fans probably shouldn't go whining about conspiracy krap like this
It’s stupid to argue conspiracy when the NFL schedule is predetermined the same way every year

I think there's something suspicious about the Cowboys scheduling, they have ended the season on the road in 8 out of the last 10 seasons. The NFL thinks that Dallas @ NFC East with playoff implications opponent and cold weather being involved will garner the best ratings. No one can tell me that is just coincidence.
