News: Cowboys Secret Ingredient That Will Help Create A Super Bowl-Caliber Defense

I think Cowboys hated to lose all them at the same time leaving them to fill several voids all at once. However I also feel the Cowboys were unwilling to pay out what each player got in FA. I agree none are corner stone players and each can be replaced I think the scary part is having to replace all in one season
I think they thought they would Retain at least one probably Carr or church. It really sucks there is salary floor because there will be teams that will overpay just to get to the floor.

Why didn't they keep this secret. Now the whole damn league knows about it.

First off, anyone who parrots league totals without understanding context is an idiot. They shouldn't be writing about anything.

We were 23rd in yards per drive. The only stat you can reasonably use as comparison without diving into deeper metrics.

The defense wasn't very good, but yes the coverage was better with Baker/Jackson coaching the secondary. Did they mention Eberflus? Because I'm pretty sure he's the passing game coordinator.

You have to look at scoring. Points allowed per drive or something similar.

The Cowboys made two big coaching changes last year in their secondary. From 2012-2015, Jerome Henderson had been the team’s secondary coach. He left last year to become the Atlanta Falcons defensive passing game coordinator. You might remember the Falcons as the team that collapsed defensively as they allowed Tom Brady to throw for 466 yards on route to a historic Super Bowl comeback. Henderson is gone now and in his place is Joe Baker, who was promoted from the safeties coach to overseeing the entire secondary. And taking over Baker’s old job is Greg Jackson, who was the secondary coach in Michigan prior to coming to Dallas
My confidence in the secondary coaches hasn't been this high in years. They will get the kids coached up this summer and surprise a lot of folks by midseason or earlier.

I hate both FA and salary caps but always knew if you had FA then there would be a cap as well.
