Drafted by Cowboys Cowboys select Jaydon Blue RB

Y
I will be surprised if the Clemson running back makes the team, but the beauty of this is we will see on the field.

RB tends to be a plug and play a little. With that being said, I don't think Blue will be ready for a big role this year. If things go well and he looks the part, I think next year is when you may see him a part of a tandem.

The big concern is who takes advantage of those carries. Sanders and Williams have proved anything but that the last two years. The Cowboys better hope the past two years were the exceptions and they still have something left in the tank. At the RB position, that doesn't happen much.

I am a Deuce fan, but I can count on him to produce or even make the team.

I don't see a lot there at RB. Maybe some enticing long term play in Blue, but this year looks rough at RB if that is who they go into the season with.
No disrespect, explain please. Mafah is making this team. Might even start. Have you seen him play? He's a bellcow. He's not just a power back. You will be very happy when you see what he does.

Is Blue someone I should consider at the 10th pick in my dynasty fantasy league? Hunter being a 2 way guy could also be on the board at 10. How much will he really play offense. I like the RB the Steelers drafted out of Iowa right now. Opinions will change after some preseason reps.

Honestly you could probably wait and get Blue round 2 if you're the 10th pick. Most of the "expert rankings" have him in the 25-30 rookie rankings. Excellent value there as he has the home run ability each week. I could see his usage being pretty inconsistent this year though. You play IDP or just offense? IDP leagues I could see Hunter having a ton of value if you can play him as a DB, and am considering taking him top 5 in my league. Personally I might let someone else over draft him as a receiver though.

I think around 10th place, Henderson, Judkins, Harvey, Johnson would be my choice before Blue. Just feel they will start or get a lot more reps and goal line opportunities.

Tony pollard was a 3 down back.

Blue isn’t.

However it’s not shocking you’re here clapping for the pick.
This is bassackwards. Pollard coming out was a utility back/wr. Most teams looked at him like a wr and not a rb. Memphis had another guy at RB. Blue started out as Texas' 3 down back but his fumbling issue stopped that until later in the season the coach knew he was needed for the playoff push.

Yes. Tony Dorsett was previously the fastest ever Cowboy at RB with a 4.30 40 time. Jaydon Blue is now the fastest with his Pro Day's 4.25 & 4.28 times.
The combine didn't start until 1984. Dorsett didn't train for the 40 like backs do now, and he didn't have the same type of track to run the 40 on.

Put Dorsett on the sprinter's track they use now, have him train for it like they do now and he'd likely had a 4.25...

Should have kept Dowdle, he's better than any of the tailbacks on the team. Jayden Blue is a reach, Overall a very disappointing draft.
I'm also disappointed in the draft, but more so for what positions were drafted, and when, than in the players themselves.

Needed a DT and WR earlier than they were drafted, needed OT more than guard, etc.

But though I liked Dowdle, don't see him as better than what we have now, maybe a little bit better but without a big improvement in the o-line, probably won't make much difference if they'd kept him....

I watched Blue every Saturday. He is going to make some plays for sure but I wouldn’t rely on him for more than 10-12 snaps a game. Hopefully, the fumbling issue will be addressed. Decent pick but he doesn’t improve the RB room by much, there were a few better ones left.
Assuming Blue played high school ball at running back, and since he played running back in college, I don't have much faith the fumbling issues can be fixed, surely the Longhorns worked on his ball security, if he hasn't learned it by now, much more difficult to overcome that tendency.

But we'll see, I'll give hm a chance....

This isn't true at all this is why there's a difference when you go from one level to the next he will work with the professionals and make sure this isn't a big problem ezekiel Elliott even had a bad year fumbling he fixed it.. You act like he fumbled on every player every series that's not the case look below I just compared only two guys but I bet I can go back and look at a lot of them and let's just count all the fumbles..

The biggest name of all which is like one of the better running backs I can remember played for the Giants back in the day tiki Barber literally was known for a being a fumbler we used to love it as a Cowboys fan and we knew we could get one every game from him but guess what he worked with somebody and he fixed it this was a high level running back who was still fumbling the ball in the pros and they fixed it it's weird how coaching and practice and being at a level where you're now paid and you get comfortable that you can actually become a better player at the next level you are not a finished product when you get to the NFL most players need to be developed and in this case he has one flaw 1 war and he doesn't fumble on every snap or every play but he did have a fumbling problem I can tell you this like Trevion Henderson was my pick he didn't have a family problem at all this dude was never a fumbler But why isn't everyone talking about Cameron Scataboo he had an accessible amount of fumbles and he went in the 4th round..

Noah's bringing that up the only reason they're bringing it up for Jayden Blue because he got picked by the Cowboys and Cowboys fans for some reason want to hope the guy has a floss so they can say Jerry picked another band player that's what it is around here too many people want our players to fail...

Here and Like I said the reason it's concerning is because he had the four fumbles in limited touches but still we could break down every player that just got drafted and find out how many fumbles they had but it's kind of ironic they're only talking about it with Jayden Blue...

Cameron Skattebo had 10 fumbles over the last three seasons in college, according to NFL Draft Buzz. This information is also highlighted in his scouting report.
Jaydon Blue had 4 fumbles during his college career at the University of Texas, losing 3 of them. He finished his college career with 134 rushing attempts for 730 yards and 8 touchdowns, along with 42 receptions for 368 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Not sure where you heard that. He ran just under a 4.5 40. 4.48 to be exact. He's a bellcow. Go look at his games and production. He's always leaning forward for hard yards, then has enough wiggle to hit daylight. He had an 80 yard td run last year for starters.

bell cow for a crappy dallas RB group maybe.

there was a reason he lasted so long. he is nothing special.

No. Wait til the later rounds then stash him on your bench. He's worth a dart throw.
