I'd release Brad Johnson, plain and simple.

from the press conference it sounds like he will be back active at holder while Bollinger is inactive #3 QB.

Bowl Participation: Starting cornerback in the 2002 Tangerine Bowl against Texas Tech and the 2004 Peach Bowl against #6 Tennessee.
Fall 2004 Depth Chart Position: First-team cornerback

Overview: Top cover corner on the team...should be a First-Team All-ACC candidate this season and a candidate for All-America honors...listed as the #4 cornerback in the nation according to Sporting News, which also lists Miller as a second-team All-American...Thorpe Award candidate according to Street & Smith...earned Honorable Mention All-ACC status in 2003; he was second-team as a freshman...had two interceptions as a sophomore and has 10 for his career, tied for 10th in school history...has 32 passes defended through two years as a Tiger...finished the 2003 season strong with double figures in passes defended...also an outstanding kick return man; he is first in Clemson history in kickoff return average (29.1)...he is one of only two players in Clemson history to return both a kickoff and punt for touchdown (Bobby Gage is the other)...started all 13 games last year and 20 in a row...named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in 2003; he was voted most improved in the classroom by the Clemson coaching staff...First-Team Academic All-ACC in 2003...only starter on the Clemson team who was named to Clemson Academic Honor Roll in both semesters last year...also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll for the entire 2003-04 academic year...voted most improved at his position during winter workouts by the strength coaches.

2003: Had 13 pass breakups, giving him a total of 15 passes defended...ranked second in the ACC in passes defended; he is second in the league for 2004 among returning players...sixth on the team with 54 tackles, 45 of which were first hits...played 819 snaps; only Jamaal ***** (850) and Travis Pugh (821) played more on defense...fourth in the ACC in kickoff return average (24.5)...big reason Clemson's kick return team led the nation for much of the season...had a 9.1-yard punt return average; that total was aided by a touchdown return against Duke...had at least one pass defended in nine games...had three tackles in the season-opener versus #9 Georgia; also had three kickoff returns for 83 yards...had two tackles and a pass breakup in the Furman game...had six tackles and a pass breakup at Maryland...had three tackles and a pass breakup against #24 Virginia...had three kickoff returns for 71 yards at N.C. State...had his first interception against North Carolina; showed his playmaking ability with a 30-yard return of that interception...played well against Florida State's dangerous receiving corps; he had seven tackles and a pass breakup; all seven tackles were first hits...had a pass breakup and outwrestled a Duke receiver for an interception, then had a 63-yard punt return for a touchdown; Special Teams Player-of-the-Game by the Tiger coaches for that performance...had three tackles and a pass breakup at South Carolina...had an outstanding performance in the Peach Bowl; had his first career sack and three pass breakups, so he ended his sophomore season on a high note; named to the Sports Illustrated All-Bowl team thanks to that effort.

2002: First-team unanimous freshman All-American; he was named by Football Writers Association, Sporting News, CollegeFootballNews.com, and Rivals.com...had eight interceptions, as he led the ACC and finished fifth in the nation on a per-game basis...led all freshmen nationally in interceptions...had a record-tying interception in the Tangerine Bowl against Texas Tech...was third in the ACC in passes defensed (17); he had eight interceptions and nine pass deflections to tie a Clemson freshman record (Robert O'Neal, 1989) in that category...his 35.1 kickoff return average on 13 returns was a Clemson single-season record...second in the balloting for ACC Rookie-of-the-Year...Second-Team All-ACC according to the ACC Sportswriters Association...tied the Clemson single-season record for interceptions with eight; he tied the record of eight set by Robert O'Neal in 1989...ironically, O'Neal was also a first-year freshman that year...Miller accomplished that with just seven starts on defense...started the opening home game on offense as a wide receiver and caught a pass for nine yards on Clemson's first offensive play of the home schedule; later had an interception in that game, becoming the first Clemson player to have a reception and an interception in the same game since 1964...started each of the last seven games on defense and had six of his eight interceptions during that time period...had his best all-around game in a Clemson loss; he had two interceptions, two caused fumbles, and five tackles against Maryland...added four kickoff returns for 152 yards, the ninth-highest return game in Tiger history...also had four kickoff returns for 129 yards at Duke...had interceptions in three consecutive games (at Duke, at North Carolina, and two against Maryland), just one off the Tiger record for consecutive games with an interception...had a 24-yard interception return against Ball State that showed his athletic ability...had a 24-yard interception return against Wake Forest to go with 10 tackles in his 83 plays; that was his first career start; named ACC Rookie-of-the-Week for that performance, one of three times he was so named...had at least one pass defensed in 10 straight games...had a season-high 12 tackles in loss to N.C. Grading System

<http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/football/nfl/logos/jets_100.gif>
BIO: Three-year starter who made a major impact the moment he came to Clemson. Junior defensive totals included 49/3/7 with a 33 yard average on 20 kick returns and two scores. Also had a 13-yard average on 26 punt returns with an additional touchdown. Sophomore totals included 47/2/13 after a freshman campaign of 61/8/9. Also averaged 35.1 yards on 13 kick returns as a freshman. Pleaded guilty to a drunken driving charge in July of 2002.

POSITIVES: Strong, physical shut-down cornerback with the ability to impact games in a variety of ways. Jams opponents at the line, physical throughout the route and a tough defender who consistently takes on bigger opponents. Explodes up the field defending screens, throws his body around the field and works to make a tackle. Quick flipping his hips to transition with opponents, displays good footwork in all directions of the field and the ability to immediately close on the ball. Has a quick plant and break, and fights to get a hand in on the pass. Good job immediately locating the ball in the air.

NEGATIVES: Loses focus, gets lazy and at times he's hesitant reacting to receivers moves off the line.

ANALYSIS: A cornerback rarely tested in college, quarterbacks purposely stayed away from Miller because of his skill. Besides possessing outstanding size/speed numbers as well as ball skills, his ability to immediately alter momentum of games as a return specialist is added value. Still rough around the edges, Miller offers abundant upside for the next level and will be a very productive NFL player should he focus on the task at hand.

PROJECTION: Late First Round

i think a big point, look at the negatives justin has;
NEGATIVES: Loses focus, gets lazy and at times he's hesitant reacting to receivers moves off the line.

the head coach for the jets is a no nonsennse head coach, and if he cant get him motivated, i dont see how the cowboys can get him motivated

as far as the patriots, i think bellicheater wants to get him to get some info on the team, before new england plays the jets

reports were that new england may sign him after he clears waivers

Yet he made the pro-bowl last year as a returner.

Not a punt returner.

He returned zero punts in 2006 and 2007.

I'd rather focus on the positives. He's FAST, he's physical, he has great hip turn and locates the ball in the air. The fact that he is a good tackler makes him a stellar candidate IMO. The negatives listed are generic. The more problematic issue is why did the Jets give up so soon on a high draft pick.

But his PR skills, never mind that he is a former blue chip talent, is reason enough to work him out. Miller is likely more talented than Ball, Butler or Brown, easy.

Churning the bottom of this roster should not be so difficult. Seriously.

Here is his scouting report from TheHuddleReport:

Strengths

Justin is an excellent overall athlete with good size, speed and strength for his position. He has solid techniques and plays his position with ease. He is smart and to be honest, he just is a lot more athletic than any WR that I have seen him up against. He returns punts and even plays on offense at times. He has the potential to be an impact player at the next level.

Needs to Improve

His game needs some refining, but I have no doubt he will do it all.

Talent Board Round 1
Justin is just a great athlete and reminds me a lot of Deion Sanders. He has the same gait when he runs and is always looking around for a big play. In fact, he gets frustrated if he doesn’t make a big play. He can learn nothing more at the college level and is smart to come out now. No one throws to his side anymore, so as far as learning better techniques, fugetaboutit! He is not being challenged right now and the only place that he will be challenged is in the NFL going up against WR’s like T. Owens and R. Moss. He looks to be a sure shutdown cover corner, but as long as he was in college, no one knew for certain. At this stage of the draft, you have to consider him a top ten pick and I think he just might be as good as Deion…but time will tell.

That is pretty flattering of him, I guess he hasn't quite lived up to that. He was arrested last year for hitting a woman at a night club and then running from police. He also missed most of last season due to a knee injury. He looks like he could be a decent offseason rehab project, but I think the media circus that would happen isn't what we need right now.

He has played 3 years, first year went to the probowl, second year got injured and went to IR, third year got cut. I don't know if projects like this are worth it at the CB position.

A first round pick in his first year?

Are you daft?

Jenkins has so much more potential than this guy. I hope that was a joke.
