I don't think he was saying he will be the next Ronde Barber, just saying he reminds him of Barber. Maybe it's his work ethics, attitude, style, his demeanor.

Very possible and maybe comparing a green rookie to someone who has established himself for a decade is begging for skepticism. It's all good, though -- I'm sure he meant well and all.

I reviewed Patmon in the game against Texas Tech. They rarely threw at him. I was surprised that they threw much more against Justin Gilbert (R1-8).

Patmon was matched up against the TE Amaro (R2-17) on some occasions.

Patmon played with very good awareness and technique. He was very solid in coverage. In run defense he played conservative making an effort to keep everything in front of him as opposed to going for a tackle for loss type of play. This was the same thing that I noticed about the CB that the Cowboys drafted.

Overall he looked solid. I didn't really see him challenged deep with all out speed, but he was fast enough in all of the situations that I observed.

Most of the players that the Cowboys drafted or signed as UDFAs this year seem to have something in common when I'm watching them. It's difficult to put into words. Basically, they play assignment sound football, play within the scheme, play with controlled aggression and with excellent awareness. I'm see guys that are "football players" and not just athletes playing football.

Smart players / athletes > Forrest Gump players
