Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign Cobb

The thing that makes me inclined to choose Cobb over Beas is attitude.

Cobb isn't the type of guy to go on Twitter and complain about the coaching and FO. I loved Beas, and will definitely miss him, but his arrogance was getting a bit old.

All you have to do is google or youtube games of the cowboys in the last 3 weeks and playoffs. Yes players can have very good speed but not have good change of direction. Theyre humans not video games. Byron jones is not a fluid athlete.

weakness in his draft profile
WEAKNESSES
Plays with high center of gravity. Has difficulty gearing down quickly and changing directions. Doesn't always play with feet under him. Will lose balance and footing too often. Not a quick-twitch athlete. Feet show noticeable stall before firing forward out of backpedal. Willing to tackle but not a physical player. Suffered season-ending shoulder injury in seventh game of 2014 season.

this shows in his play. maybe you need to watch the guy play instead of just reading articles about him not giving up tds.

Heres something else for you.
In the final 5 games including the playoffs, Dallas gave up 5td passes. Byron gave up 3 of them.

Trust me i know what im looking at, clearly you dont.

How convenient that you left out the strengths.

And tell me what games he got burned by the hook/9.

Byron’s play slowed down some, sure. We have him for another year and he needs to prove last season wasn’t a fluke. But all of your other nonsense is just that.

That price tag basically settles the debate about how good he is anymore.

This signing doesn't really hurt anything, but I don't think it solves much, either.

Cobb is at least on par with Beasley.

Look at the entirety of the receiving Corp now.

Cooper
Gallup
Cobb
Hurns
Austin

Maybe brown or Wilson also make the roster.

That is more than enough talent at the WR Corp for a run first football team.

It’s also light years ahead of the receiving Corp the cowboys had at the beginning of last season.

Bease who?

He's going to need that ability when he realizes who's throwing him passes.

The price tag reflects that he missed a lot of games with injury last year. He was on pace for 682 yards and 4 TDs had he played the full season, and that would have warranted a more significant contract. If he is healthy in 2019 he should easily be an adequate replacement for Beasley.

Here’s what Aaron Rodgers said about Cobb after the season ...

When Randall is healthy, I think our offense has been different,” Rodgers explained Sunday, “because we have a true slot guy that can make plays in the slot consistently”.

Rodgers admitted Cobb hasn’t been healthy enough in recent years, but he likened the veteran slot receiver to the offense’s missing piece, noting his affinity for the rest of the passing game, including the tight end position, the Packers’ three young receivers and Davante Adams, who he called “a supreme talent.”

Having a slot guy like that guy who can legitimately get open time after time, he’s what we need,” Rodgers said.

He was at least as vocal about Jordy Nelson, and it turned out he was pretty much washed.

739 yards in the dysfunctional mess that was Oakland last year isn’t anything to sneeze at. After all, you saw the stats Amari Cooper was getting in Oakland.

I'm sure this has been mentioned, but what a difference a year makes.

Pre-2018 draft, here were Dallas' top four receivers: Allen Hurns, Terrance Williams, Cole Beasley, and Deonte Thompson.

Right now, here are Dallas' top four receivers: Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, Randall Cobb, and Tavon Austin. And by the way, Hurns, Noah Brown, and Cedrick WIlson are still around.
