Cowboys sign DT Drake Nevis, release Jerome Long

Former LSU standout. Is a better fit for a 4-3 scheme than he is a 3-4 supposedly, which is what the two NFL teams who have cut him (Colts/Chargers) employ. I'm loving the depth we're building on the d-line. I think the signings of Nevis and David Carter last week may mean Casear Rayford can focus more on end. Looks like we're preparing for life without Ratliff and Spencer next year, and that's fine by me if some of these guys turn into quality depth.

Nevis should be a good fit in this defense. He has a very quick first step.

This may be true, but I don't trust any Broaddus prediction that involves Bernadeau ending up with a bigger role.
