So where do we go in round 2 now? I say either, S, ILB, DT, or OL

Since Olshansky is here and Scandrick will handle the FS position when needed we will be going best player available. That can be CB, NT, Safety ILB, OLB, WR or OL. If I see another TE or RB this draft I'll crack though. We're good there and need players at the positions mentioned.

Our first 3rd round pick we can get excellent value at the NT position with Dorell Scott. A top tier safety or LB usually falls to the 2nd. We may move up in the 2nd with the oodles of picks we have if there is a steal available, there always is one. Could be a corner which I think has to be high on our priority list also.

The best part about this deal, other than the money, is the fact that he know's Wade's D!!!!!! No learning curve crap! Him and Brookings.

Cowboys fill defensive-line hole with Olshansky

Posted: March 6th, 2009 | Adam Schefter

To replace Chris Canty, who left for the New York Giants earlier this week, the Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement with free-agent defensive lineman Igor Olshansky. Olshansky comes from San Diego, where he played five seasons with the Chargers and had 179 tackles and 11 sacks.

4-year, $18 million contract, with roughly $8 million guaranteed...per Mickey Spagnola

So we basically got a Canty Clone for about 1/3 the price?

I'm happy with it.

A real GM would have got him for $17.99m instead of $18m.
Bach? Are you out there? Has Jerry just mortgaged the future on some no-good Slav?

Who cares?

The real question is, what's the acceptable degree of error on the fourth derivative?

Wait for it....

If he is so good, why was he available?

That needs to be in this thread.

Jerry is signing other people's trash and letting our diamonds sign with other teams to haunt us.

I honestly don't know how he even knew the man was available.

Canty signed for twice that amount.

Thus proving Canty is twice the player of Igor O.

We will be ruing this for a long time.
