it had no point
It had a very simple, unoriginal point (very similar to the same director's point in A History of Violence), but a point nonetheless. We live in a violent, nasty world that can be difficult to escape.

Wow. That looks cheap. He's young, too. I thought he would get more, much more. I didn't want to the Cowboys to pay "much more". He should be a solid run stopper on the weak side. I think Canty is considered better, but there doesn't appear to be too much difference. Dallas appears to have saved their money by letting Canty go. There shouldn't be a drop off in play on that side. I can't wait to see the break down on the contract. It should be pretty good.

I would still draft two defensive linemen in this draft, because the value should fall right in your lap or close enough to move up. Dorell Scott would still be on my radar.

When was the last time any of you saw a thread this positive in here?: this is nice...peace, love, save the whales....seriously this guy looks like a beast. Me likey.

I think 'overlooked' would be a more appropriate description.

I don't think so, the general public may not have heard about it but anyone who follows movies knew about the movie. It got some really good reviews though and thus it was overrated in my opinion.

"Did the Chargers make any attempt to re-sign this guy? Are they cash-strapped? Hard to believe they couldn't have matched Dallas' modest offer. Maybe they have someone younger or better in the pipeline."(bbgun)

The Chargers are NOTORIOUSLY cheap bbgun. IMO they are the west coast version of the Bears...they just don't spend a dime more than they have to. The weird part is: I would have fully expected the Giants to sign a guy like this: NOT saying he's a better fit than Canty, on the contrary some people on here are selling Canty short: he is athletic, and faster than Igor; but FOR THE MONEY? I really like what JJ did. HE spent less and got a very similar player. The irony is, in the past JJ would break the bank on a guy like Canty: (see MB3, Hamlin, Flo, etc....) and not go with a sound, affordable alternative. This signing is Giant and/or Patriot like. Gives me hope.....And as the man said in Shawshank Redemption....hope is a good thing...........

Yeah, that's true when it came out as memory serves. To me it sort of just dropped out of site pretty quickly after that. It didn't get talked up at all for awards -- or did it?

Keep in mind that the Chargers have a big payday coming for Rivers and probably for Merriman as well. They hate to spend but they've got their two best players entering the last years of their deals.

Mortensen got an Oscar nomination for his role.

Great point Abe: the Chargers are getting squeezed by the cap in losing Igor similar to how JJ got squeezed and lost Canty: its' the nature of today's NFL.

fan-freakin'-tastic! I think I'm just as excited by the contract as getting him here. Like someone said, now we can go best player available - no reaching. Awesome. Good move by Jerry/Stephen/Wade.

doubt it is their cap so much as their cheapness.

I think he'll do better for Wade. The guy is a beast. He can lift his 305 pounds to a pull-up bar 20 times. He does six reps of 465 pounds in the bench press.

I am excited about this move, however,

Why did SD let him go? The contract was cheap enough for them to offer the same.......

Does anyone know why SD soured on him?
