This guy is at best an arm for practice. Dont get the signing - no real upside.

Upside wasn't sitting at home waiting for a phone call. This was just depth, not to brighten the future.

no. He played at SMU and UT. Was really good. Had his ups and downs. Been around for a few years. He does have some mobility, and a good arm. He's just a 3rd stringer and will likely never see the field. Poor mans version of Colt McCoy.

Gilbert was nothing like McCoy. I’m excited about the pickup. He had so much potential after almost coming back on Alabama. You’ve got to think maybe his shoulder is bothering him or all the transferring and diff coaches. I think he had so much success in that game that he didn’t think he had to try, but after going down to the minor league and dominating I think he might have hope. He needs to play I think get game experience. If Dalton goes down I think we’ll see an exciting Dinucci / Gilbert competition.
