It doesn't look like the visit with quarterback Austin Davis went well, as the team has moved their bullseye to another signal caller with the hopes of having him play behind
Jameill Showers on Thursday night.

Cowboys now targeting for Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson as Jameill Showers backup for tonight's game. Johnson was cut by the Ravens
12:09 PM - 1 Sep 2016
The 6-foot-5, 250 pound Johnson is 28-years-old and was signed as an UDFA to the Eagles in 2011.
Since leaving Texas A&M, he's been on the roster for a total of eight teams between both the UFL and the NFL. His most recent stint came in Baltimore, with the Ravens releasing him.
It's likely Johnson is simply being picked up for preseason finale depth and not to resolve the answer of veteran QB. He could land on the practice squad in the end, but for now he'll insure rookie Dak Prescott doesn't need to enter the game Thursday night should Showers go down with injury.
